How you will make a difference as a Talent Acquisition Specialist:

The Talent Acquisition Specialist is responsible for full-cycle recruitment activities to support the staffing needs for assigned Ascentria Care Alliance programs. The Talent Acquisition Specialist will develop strong and collaborative relationships with hiring managers and provide sourcing, prescreening, interviewing, referencing, and other related recruitment supports leading to timely and well-qualified hires. In the Talent Acquisition Specialist role, you will experience the gratification of placing staff into the lives of people we serve and watching them flourish together.    

Essential Responsibilities:

  • Proactively create applicant pools by posting jobs through various job boards, social media platforms, professional organizations, career fairs, open houses as appropriate to the position.
  • Conduct Boolean sourcing to attract passive and well-qualified candidates.
  • Post newly available positions on ATS and at the outset of a search conduct strategy meetings with managers, in conjunction with Senior Director of Workforce and Recruiting, to develop appropriate strategy to meet the program/department’s recruitment needs.
  • Represent Ascentria at college, community, and other events as assigned.
  • Provide regular written updates related to recruitment activities and efforts to hiring managers throughout the recruitment process.
  • Screen all applications/resumes received for open positions; conduct telephone pre-screening of appropriate candidates, and forward to hiring manager for follow up within a timely fashion.
  • Assist hiring managers with scheduling follow-up interviews with candidates as needed.
  • Provide an exceptional candidate experience by maintaining clear and consistent communication with candidates about the process and promptly responding to questions or concerns.
  • Provide consultation to hiring managers related to interview processes and decisions related to candidates.
  • Place candidates within the applicable pay scale based on experience, education, and other applicable factors. Work collaboratively with the Senior Director and Hiring Manager to build consensus on compensation as needed.
  • Communicate provisional job offers and provide all necessary documentation to support the offer; notify hiring manager and Senior Director if issues arise with the job offer.
  • Review reference reports and/or complete timely and formal written references consistent with Ascentria’s referencing practices. Consult with the Senior Director with reference-related issues/concerns. Follow up with candidate, references, and/or hiring manager as needed.
  • Conduct and/or review background checks, criminal background checks, driving record checks, professional license checks and others as necessary depending upon the position and funder/state regulations. Work closely with the Senior Director to gather necessary information to decide whether to hire based on information learned as part of backgrounding process.

Do you have the following qualifications and skills?

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resources, Business, Communications or related field or equivalent experience in lieu of degree required
  • Minimum of 4 years of recruitment experience required.
  • Experience working in multi-service nonprofits strongly preferred.
  • Demonstrated success utilizing creative sourcing strategies including social media and professional networking required.
