About the role

Leidos is seeking a Senior Scrum Master to be part of the mission solution and help lead SSA’s Digital Modernization Strategy.  Join one of our high performing teams responsible for building the next-generation enterprise APIs and modern responsive user interfaces, supporting the Social Security Administration (SSA) and their mission to meet the changing needs of the public, positively impacting at least 65 million American lives per month.  We are a team of forward-looking professionals in need of a strong candidate with these key required skills: Agile Scrum Master that will utilize Lean Agile and Configuration Management (CM) best practices to standardize IT-project governance across components for its set of corporate applications.  Projects are in various stages of Development, Operations and Maintenance (O&M), and Cloud migration. The Customer requires support for enterprise scrum and CM through leadership in Agile practice and system engineering discipline. 

*** Selected candidate must be willing to work on-site in Woodlawn, MD 5 days a week.

  • Facilitate scrum events like sprint planning, daily standups etc.
  • Coaching the team and stakeholders.
  • Managing the product backlog.
  • Facilitating and guiding the scrum team in adopting and implementing he scrum framework.
  • Operate as a facilitator between their team and the leadership and work with the team o ensure their overall success.
  • Remove Impediments.
  • Guide the team in embracing Agile principles and values.

FOUNDATION FOR SUCCESS (Basic Qualifications)

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Mathematics, Engineering, or a related field and 8 years of experience. Additional years of experience may be substituted in lieu of degree,
  • Masters or Doctorate degree may substitute for required experience
  • Experience using one or more Systems Development Life Cycle methodologies (i.e. Agile, Waterfall models, etc.)
  • Minimum of 6 years’ experience as a Scrum Master
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a Public Trust. Contract requirement.

FACTORS TO HELP YOU SHINE (Required Skills)

These skills will help you succeed in this position:

  • Strong communication skills
  • Scrum @Scale implementation experience
  • Experience mentoring Junior Scrum Masters
  • Experience creating training material and teaching scrum processes to product owners and other team members including other scrum masters.
  • Extensive applicable knowledge of facilitation techniques, training and application of coaching tools, and models
  • Experience with implementing and maintaining Agile project perfor
