Job Description

As a Project Manager, you will collaborate closely with Home Depot's design and planning teams, alongside RRD's internal creative and print production teams, to deliver on our client's in-store signage requirements. Your daily responsibilities will involve gathering crucial project scope details, understanding and conveying creative needs, and diligently managing milestones to meet deadlines. Effective communication with various stakeholders, including Home Depot teams, internal traffic managers, creative teams, and print production managers, will be essential to ensure flawless and timely project execution.

Responsibilities

Work is typically performed under no supervision, with only guidance about overall goals and objectives. Usually receive minimal to no guidance about how to complete work objectives. Must be able to define work based on evaluation of short-term and long-term goals of the department. Able to independently evaluate processes, identify areas of improvement, and incorporate into overall work objectives.

 

  • Act as primary liaison between clients and RRD internal creative and production teams.

  • Apply a broad knowledge of retail, packaging, and print production workflows.

  • Establish and promote excellent customer relations through effective and proactive communications to update clients and other stakeholders on project status.

  • Enter and track a high volume of data-related work milestones and updates to project tracking system

  • Lead day-to-day management and optimization of projects, entering specifications using job management software, prioritizing work and managing client expectations

  • Demonstrate understanding in each area of Creative Services, including design and print production 

  • Attend and set relevant client meetings, production and project management status calls bringing in appropriate resources from Creative Services as needed.

  • Maintain contact with client, creative and production teams to set project milestones, create project estimates, track schedules, advise on job progress, scheduling concerns, and any requests for additional information or materials, when required.

  • Train other employees as needed.

  • Perform other related duties and participate in special projects as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field or equivalent working experience.

  • 3-5+ years of experience in project management or comparable experience with progressively expanding responsibilities.

  • Background in the creative agency and print industry preferred.

  • Must be proactive, collaborative, inquisitive, driven and seek excellence in execution of tasks.

  • Focus on continuous improvement to improve processes

  • Complete understanding of the “Big Picture”, including creative problem solving, analyzing potential solutions and using sound judgment to make good decisions.

  • Ability to interpret and understand clients’ expectations and communicate to, and guide, the production team.

  • Strong project management, organizational and time-management skills. 

  • Superior communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to listen for understanding when working with client and cross-functional teams

  • Ability to manage multiple concurrent projects in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.

  • Proven success developing and building strong internal and client relationships

  • Ability to anticipate needs on behalf of the client, not only to serve the client, but also to increase project volume and profitability.
