Job Description

  • Demonstrates and promotes the company vision
  • Applies GMP/GLP in all areas of responsibility, as appropriate
  • Ensures the scientific quality and expertise of the business unit in a defined scope of services.
  • Consults with clients on Eurofins Food Integrity & Innovation projects or development needs and designs appropriate studies or programs.
  • Collaborates on sales and marketing activities to assure financial and budget expectations are met. Plans and delivers Eurofins Food Integrity & Innovation service offerings for global client portfolio demands. 
  • Develops and supports a strategic plan which identifies the areas in which the department will concentrate its scientific efforts, capital, and staff to meet business growth objectives.
  • Defines resources (personnel, space, equipment), implements programs, and drives process improvement to assure financial, quality and budget expectations are met.
  • Initiates, plans and implements staff development programs.  Develops department capabilities and resources to meet both present and future needs. Colleague development is a significant component of the role.
  • Influencing the external scientific and regulatory environment are significant components of the role.
  • Ensures compliance with all relevant regulatory and certification guidelines (e.g. GXP, FDA, USDA, etc.)
  • Identifies opportunities for synergistic leverage across assigned Eurofins Food Integrity & Innovation service offerings, and ensures communication mechanisms across defined areas within the matrix organization. Serves as internal and external technical expert.  Influences and impacts internal and external practice and policy.
  • Conducts all activities in a safe and efficient manner
  • Performs other duties as assigned

Qualifications

  • Ph.D. in Chemistry, Microbiology, Food Safety or related field
  • Experience and a BS/MS in Chemistry, Microbiology or related field may be substituted for education.
  • Weekend work as required.
  • May be exposed to potential food allergens.
  • Travel required 25% of the time to visit clients, attend professional meetings, training opportunities and visit other Eurofins sites; additional travel may be required may be required during special initiatives, etc.
  • Ability to attend domestic and international technical conferences/exhibits and entertain clients after regular business hours is required. 
  • Authorization to work in the United States indefinitely without restriction or sponsorship

Additional Information

Position is Part-Time, approximately 10 hours per month, with additional hours, as needed.  Candidates currently living in a commutable distance to Brea, CA are encourage to apply.
