About the role

Job Description

Nordstrom Product Group (NPG) is Nordstrom’s Private Label Division and includes a portfolio of brands designed and developed specifically for Nordstrom and Nordstrom Rack (Store and Ecomm). The Project Manager role is part of the Brand Design & Packaging Team within NPG. Key partners include the Packaging Graphic Design and Production Team, NPG Merchandising, Product Development, and Design Teams, Copywriters, Nordstrom Creative Teams and third party domestic and international suppliers. 

A day in the life...

  • Lead multiple projects related to the creation, evolution or optimization of packaging including but not limited to interior labels, hangtags, bags and shoeboxes. 

  • Clearly communicate goals, roles, responsibilities, success metrics and desired outcomes of each project with cross functional partners, stakeholders and suppliers. 

  • Determine and monitor project schedules, progress and costs to ensure that results are delivered on time and within budget.  

  • Ongoing research of new trends in packaging, new materials, opportunities for sustainability and sourcing optimizations. 

  • Represent company with third party vendors and sourcing partners, maintaining relationships and ensuring NPG standards are adhered. 

  • Provide and enter data for label and packaging specification in NPG systems. 

  • Assist on ad hoc project management as needed by the broader Brand Design & Packaging Team.

  • A proven track record of using a strategic mindset and strong analytical skills to drive results 

  • The ability to identify improvements, define problems, make critical decisions and work with subject matter experts throughout the company to complete projects 

  • Strong organization, time management and communication skills 

  • The ability to remain flexible and nimble in a dynamic business  

  • The ability to give and receive constructive feedback  

  • Interest in the retail/fashion industry 

You own this if you have...

  • A minimum of 3 years’ experience in project management; expertise in managing creative projects, retail packaging, print production or label development preferred 

  • A passion for brand development and articulating a clear brand story to customers 

  • Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suites, FlexPLM (or equivalent product development system) and MS Office Suite; expertise in Excel preferred
