Data Science Director – Head of Branch Analytics

Wells Fargo is seeking an innovative and accomplished Data Science Director to serve as Head of Branch Analytics within our Consumer, Small & Business Banking (CSBB) division. The selected leader will craft and execute a compelling analytics strategy, translating complex data into powerful stories and actionable insights that elevate customer experiences, optimize branch operations and staffing, and drive strategic decisions across our national branch network. This individual will leverage exceptional storytelling ability to communicate clearly with diverse audiences, including C-level executives and Branch Leadership, often presenting to the CEO and other senior leaders.

In this role, you will:

• Lead all aspects of branch analytics in alignment with Consumer, Small & Business Banking (CSBB) priorities, focusing on customer growth, retention, satisfaction, and operational excellence.

• Enable strategic workforce initiatives, including staffing level optimization, scenario modeling, and resource allocation, to enhance efficiency and elevate customer experience across the national branch network.

• Translate complex analytics into executive-level insights, crafting compelling narratives and presentations for senior stakeholders—including the Head of Branch Strategy, Head of National Branch Banking, and CEO of CSBB—to influence strategic direction and investment decisions.

• Deliver advanced analytics solutions—including predictive modeling, machine learning, segmentation, and optimization— in partnership with the AI/ML team to address key challenges in branch performance, staffing, workforce management, and customer engagement.

• Lead and grow a high-impact team of data scientists, analysts, and managers, fostering a culture of innovation, inclusion, and continuous learning.

• Partner cross-functionally with technology, product, and operations teams to embed analytics into core platforms and business processes, ensuring seamless integration and scalability.

• Establish and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) for branch operations, leveraging data visualization and storytelling to communicate insights across diverse audiences.

• Champion data governance and ethical data use, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards

• Stay ahead of industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices in data science and financial services, with a focus on branch analytics, workforce management, and customer experience.

• Cultivate strategic partnerships with internal stakeholders, external vendors, academic institutions, and industry groups to advance analytics capabilities and attract top-tier talent.

Required Qualifications:  

• 8+ years of data science experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education

• 4+ years of management
