What you’ll do:

Our Consulting Associate Directors are responsible for high-level project delivery and oversight along with client relationship management on medium-complexity engagements. You will manage small Gartner teams in the execution of our engagements or workstreams, and advise clients at the highest strategic level on both big-picture and tactical matters, focusing on how technology enables a wide range of business outcomes.

 

Data and Analytics Domain Knowledge:

This particular role requires you to possess sufficient strategic and technical Data and Analytics expertise to enable you to fulfill project delivery, oversight, and client relationship management on our Data and Analytics oriented engagements.  Examples of the type of domain knowledge likely to be required while fulfilling the role of an Associate Director could include such things as:

  • Advising on Data Lake/Data Warehouse/Data Marts architectures

  • Collaborating with product owners to define service level objectives and manage the health and performance of cloud/hybrid systems

  • Identifying key requirements around enterprise security and access controls in the context of data and infrastructure deployments

  • Collaborating with internal analytics experts to support clients in setting the strategic direction, and establishing the technical approach for scaling, and integrating, Data Analytics platforms and associated information applications and programs

  • Advising, developing, or enhancing Data Engineering architectural standards

  • Creating Data Engineering technical portfolios, researching trends, and developing 1-3-5-year technology roadmaps, and present recommendations to clients

  • Leverage expertise of available technologies to perform architectural reviews and cost analysis

  • Providing advice, coaching, and mentorship to team members on technical expertise

  • Serve as the Data Engineering delegate to represent the client team for vendor management, including strategic vendor meetings, architecture meetings, meetings with technical account managers

 

 What you’ll need:

  • Experience within a management or technology consultancy in a project delivery capacity. Sales experience would be a plus

  • Prior experience in a problem-solving capacity such as a solution/technical architect or analyst preferred

  • Experience working with multiple technology stacks 

  • Experience working with Government/Public Sector, Retail/CPG and/or Financial Services clients

  • A consistent track record of leading people and driving high-performing project teams that leverage technology to drive the mission-critical priorities of commercial or government entities

  • An ability to inspire and motivate professionals from both technical and non-technical backgrounds towards a common goal 

  • Comfortable influencing and building trust-based, value-added relationships with senior executives, both internally and externally

  • Coachable and embracing of best practices and feedback as a means of continuous improvement

  • A consistently high achiever marked by perseverance, humility and a positive outlook in the face of challenges

  • Track record in achieving / exceeding revenue targets preferred
