Manager, ITG HIE Integrations, National Medical Care, Inc., a Fresenius Medical Care N.A. company, Lexington, Massachusetts (Remote)

Purpose and Scope:

Responsible for managing, organizing and controlling the development, testing, implementation and maintenance of Health Information Exchange (HIE) Integration programs and projects in accordance with established Information Systems goals for Fresenius Medical Care North America.  Lead multiple HIE Integration projects and oversee suppliers, developers and interdepartmental relationships to ensure that predetermined specifications and timelines are met.  Provide leadership to continuously improve the HIE Integration function by encouraging process improvement, the appropriate implementation of best practices and employee training. 

Principal Duties and Responsibilities:

• Directing the HIE Integrations activities and functions for internal and external FMCNA customers;
• Coordinating performance of HIE technical staff;
• Managing HIE product administration, maintenance and upgrades;
• Developing HIE processes for interfaces, data transport, and conversions;
• Overseeing the performance tuning of HIE tools and processing;
• Supervising and monitoring vendor relationships and evaluations;
• Executing and supervising IT related technical analysis functions for HIE;
• Ensuring that all design and development methodologies and implementations conform to industry standards;
• Managing and providing appropriate leadership and technical support to staff through delegation, support and evaluation to meet overall business objectives;
• Reviewing HIE Integrations project requests and coordinating schedules, related department activities and resource requirements, in addition to working with other FMCNA management to assess and determine business priorities;
• Reviewing, recommending and justifying the selection of new products and services; and
• Developing long range plans to provide appropriate use of technology in support of business requirements.

Education Experience and Required Skills:

Position requires a Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Information Systems, Computer Science or a closely related field and 6 years of experience as a Systems Analyst working on Health Information Exchange projects.  Must also have 3 years of experience (which can have been gained concurrently with the primary experience requirement above) working with the following:

• Mirth Connect or a similar multi-protocol healthcare data integrations engine;
• Building and supporting HL7 or XML healthcare integrations exchanges;
• The national HIE standards; and
• EHRs (either Cerner or NextGen) and FHIR.

This is a telecommuting position working from home.  May reside anywhere in the United States.
