Aumni - Senior Product/Program Manager, Research & Applied ML - Vice President

Aumni, the new Digital Private Markets business is leveraging the power of J.P. Morgan to create an integrated suite of transactional and analytics solutions, focused on the private markets. This innovative multi-disciplinary team of engineers, data scientists, product managers, designers, and securities professionals is building bespoke digital solutions for private market investors, and high-growth companies. We aim to transform private markets by offering a combination of portfolio management, data, and analytics tools, as well as a suite of primary capital raising tools for companies and funds, and secondary liquidity services.

Job Summary:

As a Program Manager within the Research and Applied Machine Learning (RAML) team at Aumni, you will be instrumental in aiding our data science leadership and teams in the implementation, approval, and integration of innovative AI/ML technologies across our diverse product lines and business sectors. Being a part of the RAML team, a technology development entity, you will provide support to multiple products and businesses in the Digital Private Markets. This role offers a unique perspective into all these areas, linking groundbreaking technologies to products and their respective customers.

Job responsibilities:

• Understand applied AI concepts and applications of data science in a financial services setting, collaborate with scientists and product teams to facilitate successful technology integration and transfer. 
• Be passionate about the application of data to solve business problems and provide a competitive edge 
• Have a solid understanding of modern data science use cases, and the governance, risk and controls required operating within a regulated commercial environment to create robust deliverables. 
• Collaborate, align, and motivate cross-functional teams across data science, data engineering and software engineering skillsets to achieve commercial objectives 
• Collaborate with a wide range of stakeholders and customers to promote data products, engage for feedback, and gather insights to improve the product with new features or identify risks to ensure business continuity 

Required qualifications, capabilities and skills:

• 4+ years of experience a product, project, or program manager and 2+ of experience as a DS or in ML in an applied, technical role 
• Strong background in Data Analytics, visualization, and AI/ML 
• Working product-level knowledge of core AI topics like machine learning algorithms, deep learning, Python programming, AI workflows 
• Experience in regulated environments and large company processes, including legal reviews, IP reviews, model governance, etc. 
• Strong communication skills and experience communicating with technical and non-technical senior stakeholders across multiple business units
• Ability to make independent decisions and handle complex product prioritization tradeoffs 
• Experience in and an understanding of agile development methodologies 
• Ability to work well with internal teams, including data scientists, developers, engineers, architects, quality assurance, and operations 
• Understanding the venture capital or financial industry and its ecosystem 

Preferred qualifications, capabilities and skills:

• Experience in and an understanding of agile development methodologies 
• SQL and/or minimal python or R experience for quick analytics, preparation of outputs for different stakeholders, etc.
