Colby Community College is located in northwest Kansas, approximately 50 miles from the Nebraska and Colorado borders. From a humble beginning of 99 students in 1964, CCC now serves more than 2,100 students annually.

Job Description

CCC is seeking an adjunct on-campus Agricultural Workplace Communication instructor. The Agricultural Workplace Communication course will be offered in a flexible schedule format. This unique position plays a crucial role in providing students with an opportunity to learn, speak, and understand the Spanish language as it is used in the agricultural setting. Instructional responsibilities include teaching, oversight, and implementation of proper terminology and conversational Spanish. The selected candidate will provide guidance and support to students, addressing their questions and concerns effectively. Assessment of student performance through assignments, exams, and other evaluation methods is expected.

Students will be taught to understand and use proper Spanish terminology in the agricultural workplace. Students will learn to communicate with and understand Spanish-speaking colleagues properly. Students will gain the confidence to converse in Spanish and effectively be able to understand agriculturally related common phrases and terminology in Spanish.

SALARY
$650 per credit hour.

Qualifications

• Must speak both fluent Spanish and English.
• Have a strong understanding of agriculture, specifically in feedlot operations. 
• Associate degree and/or at least two years of professional experience in the field.
