About the role

JOB SUMMARY

The Contracts Administration Manager is primarily responsible for drafting, analyzing and negotiating a variety of corporate contracts and providing for the execution and maintenance thereof. During the negotiation process, the Contracts Administration Manager collaborates with the stakeholders in order to maximize value and mitigate risk for Conifer. The Contracts Administration Manager continually enhances supplier and client contract templates based on legal requirements and best practices. Contracts Administration Manager will continually seek to improve processes and procedures within the department. 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Draft contractual provisions based on corporate strategies, legal and regulatory compliance, contract standards and pricing components.
  • Identify areas of risk, provide negotiating strategies and support the initiatives of senior management or other stakeholders to ensure contractual terms are aligned with company standards, to maximize value and minimize Conifer’s risk. 
  • Assure accuracy and appropriateness of contract terms and conditions.
  • Coordinate and verify the approvals and execution of all contracts.
  • Identify opportunities and develop recommendations to improve contracting processes and management system.
  • Draft and review contract amendments, statements of work and other similar documents to ensure compliance with contract provisions.
  • Update contract templates and analyze changes to standard template provisions in contracts being negotiated.
  • Facilitate contract portions of the RFP process on either client or supplier side as required.

  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills
  • Outstanding ability to draft and negotiate a large variety of legal documents
  • Proven ability and understanding of standard business contract terms
  • Proven ability to analyze contracts, to identify business risks and to provide negotiating strategies (both client and supplier experience is preferable)
  • Customer-driven and focused; responsive to the customer’s needs
  • Proven ability to work independently and to work collaboratively on teams, to proactively take the initiative required to resolve issues, and to perform multiple tasks simultaneously
  • Proven ability to adapt to changing priorities within short timeframes
  • Proven ability to work efficiently and effectively in a fast-paced environment 
  • Proven ability to facilitate a cross-functional team 
  • Effective time management skills

EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE

Include minimum education, technical training, and/or experience preferred to perform the job.

  • Bachelor’s degree (preference for Business or Healthcare Administration) 
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in contract development, review, analysis and negotiation
  • Minimum of 15 years of relevant business experience
  • Candidate has developed business terms for a variety of client and supplier contracts, including service agreements, statements of work, confidentiality agreements, software agreements and business associate agreements
  • Candidate has experience working with attorneys to negotiate contract terms
  • Experience in the healthcare industry preferred but not required
