About this Role
We are looking for a director to lead the SMA Operations Transformation Team within USWA SMA Solutions Operations. The SMA Operations team is responsible for supporting the day-to-day operations of the SMA Solutions Business. This includes new platform implementation, client account on-boarding, trade support, reconciliation, billing, performance reporting and driving various projects and initiatives to improve scale & client experience. The Director leading SMA Operations Transformation will partner with SMA Operations Leaders, SMA Infrastructure team, Portfolio Management and Technology to scale for growth, drive efficiency, and improve the client experiences.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead a team consisting of Associate – VP level staff focused on project management, process redesign, and cross-operational support.
- Gain understanding of the end-to-end SMA Solutions processes, products, people, clients, and platforms.
- Help identify, design, and execute on short term initiatives, medium term projects and long-term strategic programs.
- Partner with the Investment Infrastructure Team to cover all operational aspects of the Strategic Technology Roadmap
- Manage location and offshore strategy for SMA Solutions
- Drive “1 BlackRock” premise through leverage of shared enterprise solutions, vendors, & applications
- Manage cross SMA Operations control functions – vendor management, system entitlements, internal audit coordination, UAT Test Coordination, etc.
- Partner with operations directors to develop metrics showing performance against KPIs and SLAs
- Ability to develop presentations to support strategic initiatives.
Qualifications:
- Flexible, responsive, and self-starting personality. Demonstrated experience working both independently and as part of a team in a highly collaborative, complex environment.
- Proven experience leading large projects, driving change, and managing teams.
- Experience within asset management operations and familiarity with separately managed accounts a strong plus
- Strong time management, organizational and problem-solving skills including ability to manage projects independently.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills along with demonstrated analytical ability.
- Effective public speaking and communication skills
Requirements:
- 10+ years professional experience
- 3-5 years of relevant asset management industry experience and Project/Program Management
- People Management Experience
- BA/BS degree required.
- Advanced Microsoft Office skills, including Excel and PowerPoint
