Team Description

The GDS Air Activations team is responsible for connecting new customers to the Sabre GDS, implementing new connectivity products for existing customers, and migrating connectivity when customers change CRS providers.


Role and Responsibilities:

  • Activation Analysts are responsible for activation of various products, enhancement implementations if required and responding to moderately complex customer inquiries regarding company products.
  • Under general direction, Senior analysts cooperate with or provide functional assistance to internal and external stakeholders (development, QA, Sales, Marketing) in identifying, evaluating and developing functionalities, product features and procedures that meet user requirements.
  • Coordinate with technology vendors, Sabre, Carrier and/or Hosting System to discuss connectivity details and project timelines. Monitor project progress and may lead cross-functional teams to address business or systems issues and conduct communication between all parties involved to establish links and configuration updates for product testing and activations.
  • Manage systems settings (databases) to permit product validation with Airlines and/or GDS. Analyzes problems using tools and programs to identify problem area(s) and recommend corrective action. Recommend solutions to customer application questions. Communicate with customer as resolutions and fixes are implemented.
  • Support P2P/CVT validation phases using manual and automated scripts. Provide assistance to QA in creating automated test scripts and maintain scripts for manual testing. Track problems and bugs so that one time as well as recurring problems can be reported to technical teams and system owners.
  • Design, create and maintain documentation for implementation process.
  • Have broad functional knowledge and understand product functionality based on industry standards (EDIFACT and Teletype) and patterns of usage by travel agency subscribers and airline agents. Know the complex level anatomy of the GDS/CRS.
  • Organize and conduct training to provide functional and technical assistance to less experienced analysts. May mentor junior staff.
  • Manage own tasks and serve as lead conduit between developers, architects, designers and with external and internal customers.
  • Work in an international and multicultural environment.

Qualifications and Education Requirements:

  • 4 year degree/post 4 year degree, and typically 5 - 7 years of related experience; or an advanced degree without experience; or equivalent work experience
  • A seasoned travel industry professional with a strong understanding of EDIFACT and Teletype messaging, and GDS systems (Sabre, Amadeus, Travelport)
  • Demonstrates good time management, teamwork and priority setting skills
  • Proficient English written and oral communication skills
  • Proven analytical and troubleshooting skills
