Director Patient Registration - Western Division (Cleveland, Kings Mountain, Lincoln)

Job Summary

Provides leadership, motivation, and guidance to the Registration Department. Works with leadership to set goals for the department and plans of action to achieve these goals. Oversees functions such as registration, insurance verification, non-clinical authorizations, reception, deposits and collections operations.

Essential Functions

• Manages and operates budget requirements for department.
• Works with Leadership and team members to develop goals for Patient Registration.
• Develops team members through identification of goals.
• Reviews performance appraisals of team members and writing those of the leadership team.
• Designs systems, interfacing registration and other departments for improved streamlined services.
• Produces and keeps required Departmental Records on each manager and supervisor and assures that managers and supervisors keep required Departmental Records on each employee.
• Maintains knowledge of TJC standards and assures that the Department meet those standards.
• Interacts on as needed basis with the other departments which may be impacted by the registration processes.

Physical Requirements

May lift 20-50 pounds occasionally. Bending and stretching required for information gathering from various filing systems. Travel required within the Patient Registration Departments and within the hospitals. Work is performed in open offices with some partitioned areas. Some work is performed at desk using telephone and computer entry. Work is subject to heavy volume and frequent interruptions either by phone or by other employees. Each employee has the responsibility to work in a safe manner.

Education, Experience and Certifications

Bachelor's Degree required. Master's Degree preferred. 3 to 5 years of progressive supervisory experience in the health care field is required. Experience in Patient Registration is required.
