The Associate Director, Analytics - US Oncology, supporting U.S. Hematology leads commercial analytics for key brands / indications within the US Oncology portfolio to drive commercial effectiveness to maximize our inline assets and accelerate new launches. As a partner to the business, the Associate Director will collaborate with Marketing and other stakeholders to identify key business questions and answer them with innovative analytical approaches in partnership with Market Research, Data Science, Forecasting, Finance, Market Access, and Data Management teams. The Associate Director delivers actionable insights through compelling, succinct storytelling, and impactful data visualization.
The Associate Director’s deep experience managing large-scale datasets and conducting sophisticated quantitative data analysis enables them to lead the design and delivery of outstanding analysis. The Associate Director synthesizes complex data to derive critical insights for brand performance & underlying drivers to inform commercial strategic decision-making.
With their expertise, the Associate Director spends much of their time designing and managing projects, with hands-on execution by other Analytics team members (internal or external agency), or communicating results. As needed, they are highly capable of directly conducting analysis.
In addition, the Associate Director’s project management experience and leadership allows them to efficiently scope, prioritize, and negotiate projects across the franchise.
The Associate Director can lead highly complex projects with only limited guidance and provide regular guidance to more junior Analytics Managers. They identify and promote innovative analytics approaches and best practices across the portfolio. The Associate Director regularly collaborate with brand leadership and influence strategic and tactical decisions.
Accountabilities:
Lead objective quantitative analysis and synthesis of key insights across different data sources to deliver actionable recommendations in support of critical business workstreams. Provide meaningful performance/KPI development, tracking, and reporting.
Apply advanced analytics approaches to deepen our understanding of disease states, treatment landscapes, and patient journeys.
Be a thought leader in Analytics, building and supporting new capabilities within US I&A.
Develop a deep knowledge of brand, customers, and market to be a strategic partner to the business. Fluidly connect the dots between strategy, your analysis, and other teams’ insights enables to produce deep insights.
Proactively Identify business needs through observed data trends and design final research/analysis outputs in collaboration stakeholders.
Develop the overall analytics plans, prioritizing resources across the franchise to address the most significant portfolio opportunities.
Serve as an expert resource on the scope, interpretation, and nuances of internal secondary data, particularly medical and pharmacy claims, with the ability to retrieve, organize and analyze large datasets as needed.
Collaborate closely with stakeholders to identify key business questions for analytics and clearly communicate actionable insights and strategic/tactical options
Contribute to best practice sharing, including identifying & driving reporting efficiencies and automations to ensure team members can invest time in addressing high-value business questions
Provide guidance to more junior team members through methodological and project direction
Essential skills/experience:
Bachelor's degree, with a preference for a quantitative field (e.g., Engineering, Computer Science, Data Science, Statistics, Math, Economics, Operations Research)
3+ years of experience at a pharmaceutical / biotechnology manufacturer or working in the biopharmaceutical industry (e.g., data/analytics, management consulting, market research, investment banking)
4+ years of analytics, statistics, or data science experience, including hands-on analysis and leading projects combining the analysis of others
Deep expertise with multiple APLD sources (Claims, Electronic Health Records) and the industry standard secondary patient-level data sources (IQVIA, Symphony, etc.); highly knowledgeable about capabilities of different sources
Strong expertise in a least one data analysis language (SQL, R, Python), with at least intermediate experience in SQL speci
