JOB TITLE: Facilities Maintenance Support
EXEMPTION: Non-Exempt
DEPARTMENT: Administration
PURPOSE OF THE POSITION: To take care of the day-to-day maintenance, upgrades, and management of the systems in place and facilities of the organization.
I. SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES include but are not limited to
- Perform minor repairs, and adjustments to equipment used in building and maintenance work including hardware, fixtures, painting, and associated equipment. Coordinate with vendors to assist when needed.
- System Maintenance - Track maintenance contracts and regular maintenance schedules for all internal systems in the 443 39th Street Building.
- Coordinate with vendors to ensure all building systems (e.g.) HVAC, boiler, sprinkler, pumps, elevators, electrical, fire alarm, and CO2 detection are operable and arrange for ongoing maintenance, and repairs.
- Coordinate with vendors to perform building-wide inspections from boiler rooms to the rooftop and elevator rooms.
- Coordinating access for building vendors, contractors, etc., and management-required inspections.
- Confirming all building contracts and permits are current.
- Represent the organization at the Building Department regarding any building code violations or non-compliance issues.
- Must be on-call, reachable, and responsive after office hours to respond and help manage emergency building requests.
- Snow Removal – Oversight of all snow removal operations from start to finish.
- Additional tasks as assigned.
II. QUALIFICATIONS
- Education/Degree minimum requirement: High School or Equivalency Diploma (associate degree and/or certifications preferred)
- Years of Experience: 2 years in the field of Building Maintenance or related field
- Excellent written and oral communication
- Understanding and knowledge of building systems and utilities
- Highly organized, good project management skills with previous experience in managing consultants
- Strong interpersonal and problem-solving skills
- Driver’s License, required

IV. WORKING CONDITIONS
- Primarily works from headquarters but will sometimes have to work across multiple Center for Family Life sites
- May also attend various meetings with different departments and contractors to discuss proposals and progress
- May require travel to various program locations and events
V. SCOPE OF RESPONSIBILITY
The Facilities Maintenance Support focuses on ensuring that the organization’s facilities are operating as they should on a daily basis by dealing with emergencies when they arise, formulating plans for the future, creating plans for replacement and repairs, and developing and managing vendor contracts
Job Type: Part-time
Pay: $24.00 - $28.00 per hour
Expected hours: 20 per week
