About the role

Job Description

We’re seeking a sharp, self-sufficient Senior DevOps Engineer ready to take our infrastructure and deployment game to the next level. This is your chance to own critical systems' health, performance, and scalability for a growing operation that spans IT and product engineering. You'll fit right in if you're skilled in AWS, Jenkins, Terraform, and Linux environments and love designing intelligent CI/CD workflows, tightening monitoring, and pushing performance. This hybrid role is based in Tulsa and involves local travel and the occasional off-hour commitment. Bring your leadership, scripts, and eye for efficiency—we’ll bring the challenges and support you need to thrive.

You will:

  • Lead the design and implementation of secure, scalable solutions across AWS and other cloud platforms.
  • Operate within a DevOps culture and drive continuous improvement in deployment practices.
  • Build, configure, and manage infrastructure as code (IaC) using Terraform or AWS CloudFormation tools.
  • Design and manage CI/CD pipelines, integrating security directly into the build process.
  • Collaborate with security engineers to embed security best practices into deployment workflows.
  • Build and maintain infrastructure that meets or exceeds 99.999% uptime availability.
  • Create detailed workflows, runbooks, and support documentation.
  • Write and maintain custom shell scripts for threat detection and alerting.
  • Conduct weekly/bi-weekly server health checks and present findings to management.
  • Monitor applications using APM tools and proactively identify and resolve performance issues.
  • Test tools are used to analyze the performance of services and systems.
  • Manage server logs and collaborate with the Product team to resolve operational errors.
  • Maintain and abide by SLAs for transaction processing speed (TPS) across partner integrations.
  • Adjust server resources (add/remove) to avoid under- or over-provisioning and ensure optimal performance.
  • Assist developers with application integration, including database connections and infrastructure dependencies.
  • Communicate and present architecture visually to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Experience:

  • Deep expertise in AWS cloud services, particularly ECS and Linux environments.
  • Strong background in Jenkins pipeline automation and CI/CD configuration.
  • Experience with infrastructure-as-code tools like Terraform and Ansible.
  • Proficiency with version control systems (GitHub, Perforce).
  • Familiarity with performance testing and monitoring tools such as JMeter, Grafana, and Dynatrace.
  • Ability to communicate complex technical concepts to technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Strong scripting ability for automation and proactive system monitoring.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Minimum 5 years of relevant experience in DevOps, infrastructure, or cloud engineering (internships and military experience included), OR
  • Minimum 3 years of experience with multiple applicable certifications (e.g., AWS DevOps Engineer, Docker, Puppet, Terraform) or a relevant degree (e.g., Computer Science, Information Technology, Cybersecurity).
  • Strong knowledge of Linux systems administration.
  • Proven ability to build, deploy, and maintain cloud-native and hybrid systems.
  • Demonstrated experience with AWS-based development and deployment environments.
  • Proficient in visualizing system architecture and workflow diagrams.
  • High curiosity and drive to improve systems continuously.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with Google Cloud Platform (GCP).
