Job Description:

As a key member of the North America Finance Leadership team, the Senior Director, Finance, Rare Disease will be a trusted and sparring partner for the Rare Disease franchise team, providing strategic guidance on growth initiatives and resource allocation. This role leads Finance activities for the Rare Disease business and partners with the franchise head to ensure that resources are fully aligned with strategic and operational priorities and that costs are properly managed and controlled.

The position will report directly to the SVP & Head of Finance for North America and will be based in Cambridge.

Main Responsibilities & Job Expectations

  • Act as a business partner for the Rare Disease Head and Franchise Leadership team members

  • Lead Strategic Performance Review preparation

  • Work in close collaboration with forecasting team and ensure consistency with Finance & Supply cycles (ROF / F1 / F2 / Budget / 5YP / 10 Yr LRP)

  • Support Performance & Pricing Committees preparation and ensure financial accuracy of presented business plans

  • Whenever relevant, prepare scenarios and ensure business cases are properly translated into Financials (Actuals & Planning): Access, Pricing and competitive landscape, Go to Market Models, distribution strategies

  • Support decision making process to achieve Sales and overall profitability ambition

  • Recommend and challenge actions to maximize business capabilities on a short/long term basis

  • Support Mid-term and long-term strategic initiatives while ensuring alignment with financial imperatives (including compliance with Stat / Tax / Cash / regulatory… requirements)

FP&A:

  • Be the finance point of contact for the Rare Disease Team

  • Lead performance monitoring (P&L, Profitability Analysis, Sales, working capital and Capex)

  • Coordinate the financial planning processes (5YP, 10 Yr LRP, Budgeting and Forecasting)

  • Improve Cash Flow generation through working capital optimization in collaboration with accounting team and corporate treasury

  • Support the Franchise Head by providing analysis for proper financial / economic assessment of Operational decisions, cost control recommendations, and new business assessments.

  • Lead all closing activities for the perimeter, in close collaboration with accounting, GtN and FP&A and ensure that group deadlines are respected, and reporting is delivered on time.

Finance Leadership:

  • Member of North America Finance Leadership Team

  • Active in driving animation, development, motivation and retention of the team members

  • Lead Finance initiatives for North America to positively impact Finance transformation and team engagement

Internal Controls & Risk Management:

  • Develop and maintain all necessary systems, policies and procedures to ensure effective and efficient financial management within the company.

  • Ensure compliance with Company guidelines and country/ industry standards.

  • Carry out all necessary actions to ensure that the company meets its financial and statutory obligations.

Efficiencies:

  • Represent Procurement function in Rare Disease Leadership team; coordinate with North America procurement team and support transformation projects including efficiencies and costs optimization

Supply Chain & Other:

  • Oversee the end-to-end supply chain including - sales forecast, inventory planning and the interface with Trade Team / Global Supply Chain to ensure appropriate stock levels and risk of stock outs is mitigated and liaise with accounting team as required

  • Prepare the supply chain for the future including preparation for new product launches, ensure a close partnership with distributors and wholesalers.

  • Liaise with the relevant quality contact person to ensure quality systems are in place throughout the supply and product chains.

Knowledge, Abilities & Experience

  • BS in Finance, Accounting or relevant degree is required' MBA is strongly preferred; CPA also preferred bu
