What You’ll Do:

As a Maintenance Technician 3, you’ll be part of our team located in East Longmeadow, MA. You’ll get to: 

• Perform highly diversified mechanical skills to install and maintain production machines and the plant facility’s equipment including mechanical, , pneumatic and hydraulic troubleshooting and repair of production machines. Use a variety of hand and power tools, electric meters and material handling equipment.

• Provides emergency/unscheduled repairs of equipment during production and performs scheduled maintenance repairs of production equipment during machine service.

• Reads and interprets equipment manuals and work orders to perform required maintenance and service.

• Diagnose problems to a component level, replace or repair parts, test and make adjustments.

• Perform regular preventive maintenance on machines, equipment and plant facilities. Interpret diagrams, sketches, operations manuals, manufacturer's instructions, and engineering specifications; troubleshooting malfunctions.

• Detect and report faulty operations and defective material. Locate sources of problems by observing mechanical devices in operation; listening for problems; using precision measuring and testing instruments.

• Removes defective parts by dismantling devices; using hoists, cranes, and hand and power tools.

• Determines changes in dimensional requirements of parts by inspecting used parts; using rules, calipers, micrometers, and other measuring instruments.

• Controls downtime by informing production workers of routine preventive maintenance techniques; monitoring compliance.

• Fabricates repair parts by using machine shop instrumentation and equipment.

• Maintains equipment, parts, and supplies inventories by checking stock to determine inventory level; anticipating needed equipment, parts, and supplies; placing and expediting orders; verifying receipt.

• Maintains technical knowledge by attending educational workshops; reviewing technical publications; establishing personal networks.

• Maintains continuity among work teams by documenting and communicating actions, irregularities, and continuing needs.

• High school diploma or equivalent and a minimum of 3-5 years of applied trades training

• Ability to read complicated drawings, specifications, charts and tables

• Experience using precision measuring instruments, tool room machines and equipment

• Ability to analyze and interpret data

• Must be able to comply with safety regulations and maintain clean and orderly work areas

• Key competencies include technical capacity, ethical conduct, communication proficiency, results driven and initiative.

• Must have demonstrated full cycle project management skills in support of new product/process development and/or equipment refurbishment, including determination of project scope, procurement, timeline, communication, contingency plans, etc.
