Role overview
The Senior Revenue Accountant will serve as a key member of the overall Revenue Accounting team and the primary point of contact for the Company’s Expert Medical Opinion business and will assist in developing detailed and efficient close processes, streamlined reporting and accurate revenue forecasting.
A day in the life…
- Assist with all areas of the monthly close process including invoicing customers based upon their billing terms, preparing and posting of any required journal entries and maintenance of any balance sheet reconciliations.
- Review customer contracts and create billing/revenue models within NetSuite
- Ensure compliance with corporate accounting policies, procedures and controls for revenue recognition.
- Assist in process improvement and development of new procedures to maximize productivity and minimize inefficiency to enhance the monthly revenue close process.
- Perform and maintain assigned internal controls on a periodic basis to ensure compliance with the Company’s Sarbanes-Oxley 404 internal controls procedures.
- Monitor customer communications and work directly with customers to address any concerns or issues.
- Work directly with customers and cross-functionally with other groups to streamline customer cash collection.
- Work closely with FP&A team on revenue forecasting as well as monthly budget vs. actual analysis and review.
- Gather data and prepare related schedules and footnotes for the Company’s quarterly reviews, annual audits, and SEC filings.
- Support external auditors as it relates to specific areas of responsibility.
- Participate in ad-hoc revenue analysis and accounting projects as needed.
What we are looking for…
- Bachelor's Degree in Accounting required
- Minimum of two years of previous accounting experience
- Public accounting background is a plus
- Month-end close experience
- Strong technical accounting skills and knowledge of US GAAP and revenue recognition standards (ASC 606)
- Ability to perform in a high growth, fast paced environment
- Strong customer service mindset with excellent communication (both verbal and written) and interpersonal skills
- Experience with NetSuite helpful, but not required
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, with the ability to manipulate and digest mass amounts of data required
- Detail-oriented; ability to prioritize and work within a deadline oriented environment
