In addition to the basic entry education requirements, you must have specialized experience and/or directly related education as described below: To qualify for the GS-15 level, you must have 1 year of full-time* specialized experience equivalent to at least the GS-14 level defined as providing leadership, oversight, or technical expertise to synthesize scientific/technical data; advising on and resolving technical/regulatory issues to support decisions related to microbial or chemical assessment, regulation, and/or risk management. You will need the following competencies in order to perform the duties of this position successfully: Critical Thinking Strategic Thinking* Technical Knowledge (Related to Position)* Coaching and Developing Others* Performance Measurement Supervisory and Leadership Judgment Customer Service Negotiation Partnering Environmental Laws and Regulations Leadership *You will be evaluated on these critical competencies. Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment.
