Software Engineer II

The Opportunity

As software engineer II, you’ll create software applications from scratch, expand existing systems, and maintain excellent user experiences. You’ll enjoy a tech-focused culture, using the latest cloud-based technology stacks to build software solutions used by more than 100,000 restaurant locations worldwide. 

You will lead a dynamic team of software engineers to support numerous development projects. You will bring experience in .NET programming, writing code, Azure and relational database skills. Your passion for software development, sharp eye for spotting defects and team player mentality will guide your team and RMS clients, including 16 of the top 30 global restaurant brands, to success.

Who You’ll Work With

You’ll work in our Tampa office on our DevOps team, reporting to the VP of Software Engineering. RMS’s DevOps team builds and supports a range of internal systems and software products that enable some of the world’s top restaurant and hospitality brands to discover and do more with their data. What You’ll Do  

• Architect full software solutions to meet client needs
• Lead a team of software engineers and delegate work items with management approval
• Ensure the best possible performance, quality, and responsiveness of applications
• Help maintain code quality, organization, and automatization
• Design, build, and maintain efficient, reusable, and reliable code
• Help write and optimize in-application SQL code
• Ensure performance and security of SQL databases
• Integrate data storage solutions such as Microsoft SQL, Azure SQL, Key Vaults, and Blobs.
• Identify bottlenecks and bugs, and devise solutions to mitigate and address these issues

Skills and Qualifications

• Microsoft Azure Solutions proficiency
• C# and T-SQL proficiency and strong knowledge of their ecosystems
• Solid understanding of JavaScript and the latest versions of CSS and HTML
• Strong proficiency with Microsoft SQL and its variation among popular databases
• Skilled at optimizing large, complex SQL statements
• Knowledge of best practices when dealing with relational databases
• Strong understanding of object-oriented programming
• Experience in writing reusable libraries
• Familiarity with various design and architectural patterns
• A knack for writing clean, readable and easily maintainable code
• Understanding of fundamental design principles for building a scalable application
• Understanding of code versioning tools such as TFS and Git
• Azure DevOps proficiency

Required

• 3+ years of professional developer experience 

Preferred

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field.
