The Opportunity 

 

This role is for Senior Financial Analyst on the accounting and control team  for Premix and Non Dairy Bioactives North America.  This role will be core to supporting the integrity of the financial processes and financial information for GNNA and GMEX.  This will include taking a leading role in the management. Emphasis is on providing timely, relevant and accurate information in a dynamic environment, where accurate information is a key competitive advantage and essential in supporting operational and strategic decision-making.  The role will also be responsible for the Balance Sheet, ensuring all Balance Sheet accounts are fully reconciled and the control environment is appropriate and robust to support the financial records. This will include liaising with central A&C, Commercial, Operations and Group Finance teams and both internal and external auditors. This permanent position will report to Financial Controller Accounting & Control – Premix North America. 

 

• Key player in the day to day running of the accounting and control function in Chicago
• Key player in developing the accounting and control team in Chicago and incorporating optimization efforts in the team
• Lead financial accountant
• Support the month end close process with associated reporting and controls
• Play a lead role in co-ordinating the BCS close process ensuring group deadlines are met
• Play a leading role in ensuring that the required accounting control procedures are in place and are effective. 
• Support the Internal and external audits and effort in ensuring compliance with Glanbia accounting policies, including internal controls
• Liaise with Group Finance functions to ensure compliance and alignment with Group policies and expectations around risk management
• Support the financial planning process and associated reporting requirements 

 

The Skills you will bring to the team 

• Professional Accounting qualification
• Ideal candidate will have 5-7 years finance experience gained in a variety of finance environments including significant financial planning and analysis experience
• Strong financial acumen including strong technical accounting skills. 
• Strong collaborative and management skills
• Ability to work in a cross functional matrix organization
• Hands on experience of using and operating SAP systems and proficiency with MS Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint
• Provides competent and fit for purpose accounting services, ensuring that financial practices are compliant and audit-ready, to maintain the highest standards of financial management within Glanbia
• Play a key role in driving an optimised financial and business planning process across the business to ensure rigorous evaluation of investments and value creating opportunities
• Ability to provide realistic  and relevant reports to support the business decision making process
• SAP knowledge preferred
• Excellent skills in Microsoft packages
