Zillow is on a mission to transform home buying and selling. The Seller team is creating the product offerings that help our customers unlock their ability to buy a home they love. The selling journey is complex and fraught with uncertainty. Sellers struggle to understand how much they can sell their home for, what options they have to sell their home, and which is best for them. Many of them are also faced with the added complexity of buying their next home while selling their current one. Our team is focused on solving these challenges for Sellers while also building and furthering relationships with them to help them take the next steps when they are ready. We Think Big, Move Fast, are growing our business from the ground up, and are looking to scale quickly.

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Senior Business Intelligence Analyst who thrives in a fast-paced environment and has a passion for taking on large, ambiguous projects that directly impact consumer behavior. You love data, but are also customer-focused, and can tie your analysis back to the human story behind the numbers. You will be responsible for defining and reporting on key business drivers, leveraging data to uncover insights and opportunities, and preparing and presenting information to leadership. 

In this role you will:

  • Define and own new and existing metrics, analyses, and business success criteria to understand current state and future state opportunities and next steps

  • Build dashboards and reports to provide compelling, clear, and powerful visualizations of our data

  • Define and own analysis and results of A/B tests and experiments 

  • Develop content and deliver key strategic insights to the executive audience via Weekly, Monthly, and Quarterly Business and Metrics review meetings

  • Own the forecast process, including updating, documenting, and presenting information on a monthly and quarterly basis, and collaborate with product, data science, operations, marketing and finance to track and understand how product, operations, and marketing changes impact performance

  • Understand the business goals and provide thought leadership in creating, maintaining, and documenting metrics to monitor, track, and improve business performance 

  • Proactively identify areas of opportunity in the seller business, operational processes, and product suite to drive improvements and operational efficiencies

  • Collaborate with product and engineering teams to discuss problems, design analytics framework, pull in the most relevant data for the business, and develop solutions

  • Help guide and mentor Junior Analysts on the team

This role has been categorized as a Remote position. “Remote” employees do not have a permanent corporate office workplace and, instead, work from a physical location of their choice, which must be identified to the Company. U.S. employees may live in any of the 50 United States, with limited exceptions.

In California, Colorado, Connecticut, Hawaii, Nevada, New York and Washington the standard base pay range for this role is $117,000.00 - $187,000.00 Annually. This base pay range is specific to California, Colorado, Connecticut, Hawaii, Nevada, New York and Washington and may not be applicable to other locations.

In addition to a competitive base salary this position is also eligible for equity awards based on factors such as experience, performance and location. Actual amounts will vary depending on experience, performance and location.

We're searching for a Senior Business Intelligence Analyst who has:

  • An undergraduate or master's degree in a quantitative field (e.g. science, engineering, economics, quantitative finance, operations research, mathematics, statistics, or similar)

  • 6+ years in a business analytics, operations, management consulting, FP&A or similar role, enabling rapid, high-quality decision making in a fast-paced, dynamic environment

  • Analytical problem solver with a track record of building sophisticated business models with scenario analysis and translating models into compelling presentations

  • Advanced Excel modeling skills and PowerPoint or Google Slides to create presentations to leadership

  • Advanced experience with SQL and data visualization software (e.g., Tableau, Periscope)

  • Experience in data modeling and statistical analysis required, with experience in Python of R nice to have
