Remote within the US - Employee Relations Administrator Intern

BEFORE APPLYING, make sure you meet the following requirements:

• Able to commit to a minimum of 20 hours per week for the entire internship period: January 29 to April 26, 2024. 

• Eligible to work in the United States.

• Must have a valid U.S Social Security Number.

• Be physically located in one of the following states where WVI is registered as an employer: Arizona, California, Colorado, Connecticut, District of Columbia (Washington D.C.), Florida, Georgia, Illinois, Maryland, Minnesota, Missouri, New Jersey, New York, North Carolina, Oregon, Tennessee, Texas, Virginia, and Washington.

• Current student or recent graduate from a graduate programme (within 2 years).

• Adhere to World Vision International’s Christian Statement of Faith.

• Willingness to use own electronic devices for internship purposes, and disposition to let WVI install endpoint security software on those devices.

DETAILS

• Stipend: All US-based interns are paid a monthly stipend of $650

• Hours: Full-time and part-time opportunities are available (20-40 hours/week)

• Internship Location: Remote within the US (see eligible states above).

• Appropriate Fields of Study/Majors: Research, Human Resources, Psychology, Business, Communication, Knowledge Management, Data Mining, or related fields.  

INTERNSHIP DESCRIPTION

The Employment Relations & Investigation (ER) department is responsible for conducting investigations into potentially sensitive, high risk and complex employment issues, including in particular harassment (general & sexual), sexual assault, grievances, violation of human resource policies, etc.

In addition to ER investigations, the department conducts employee relations investigator training (online and in-person). The function also is responsible for identifying, and tracking trends, and lessons learned from investigations to inform learning, adaptation, and improvement of policies, procedures, and strategies.

The intern’s responsibilities will include:

• Analysis of types of investigations and preparing reports to help identify trends.

• Remain up-to-date on relevant trends, training, and activities within the corporate, and humanitarian-development sectors.

• Identify root causes and systematic issues that require improvement to help prevent recurrences of ER incidents.

Essential qualities for this role:

• You are able to collect and interpret data. Mining data from multiple sources, then reorganizing said data in a format that can be interpreted in the reports.
