Senior QA Engineer - OTT Backend

The Brightcove OTT platform is capturing the growth in online media streaming services and is looking for engineers to help make the product rock solid.  The team is building a rich user experience across multiple devices including smart TVs, mobile, web and Roku.  We have a modern development process that allows our team to rapidly adjust and release new features to our customers.  We are dedicated to delivering a superior media streaming experience without ever missing a beat.  If you are bright, enthusiastic about software testing, creative, passionate, curious and eager to contribute we want to hear from you!

 

Job Responsibilities

• Work with the OTT CMS development team to develop test cases and prioritize testing activities
• Execute test cases and report results
• Record and manage defects throughout their lifecycle in Jira 
• Contribute to existing tools, frameworks, related solutions and build new tools when required
• Work collaboratively with the development team to plan delivery, manage risk, improve quality, and streamline our software deployments
• Act as an advocate for Software Quality and the end users

Qualifications/Experience

 

• 5+ years experience in software quality assurance
• Experienced in Scala, Python, SQL and JavaScript
• Experienced in REST APIs and automated API testing, prefer experience with Postman
• Experience with test automation tools

• Experience in Git and log analysis
• Experience with OTT, video or media is preferred 
• Experience with testing on mobile devices, additional experience with Smart TVs and Roku devices is preferred
• Experience on testing payments and subscriptions flows on multiple paywalls (Google Play, Apple Store, Stripe or others) is preferred
• Comfortable working in an agile/scrum setting
• Excellent communication, collaboration, reporting, analytical and problem solving skills
