Position Overview

SAIS invites applications for a term faculty appointment at the Lecturer or Senior Lecturer level, specializing in teaching quantitative methods at the introductory, intermediate, and advanced levels. This appointment is a full-time, non-tenure-track, 9-month term position which is renewable, scheduled to commence in the Fall semester of 2025. The starting course load is six courses per academic year, with potential reductions depending on non-teaching responsibilities. Teaching would include core courses on statistics, basic econometrics, and possibly advanced econometrics (cross-sectional or time-series) and big data/machine learning methodologies. Candidates with backgrounds in economics or data analytics applied to international affairs are especially encouraged to apply.
Qualifications
A Ph.D. or equivalent terminal degree is strongly preferred; candidates will also be considered who have a Master’s degree and significant professional experience. The candidate must have a demonstrated record of achievement in teaching quantitative methods courses at the undergraduate or graduate (policy school) level.

The referenced salary range represents the minimum and maximum salaries for this position and is based on Johns Hopkins University's good faith belief at the time of posting. Not all candidates will be eligible for the upper end of the salary range. The actual compensation offered to the selected candidate may vary and will ultimately depend on multiple factors, which may include the successful candidate's geographic location, skills, work experience, internal equity, market conditions, education/training and other factors, as reasonably determined by the University.
