OVERVIEW: The FLIK Hospitality Internship Program is a paid program that gives hospitality students the opportunity to work in a dynamic and inspirational hospitality culture. Working closely with hospitality mentors, FLIK interns have an inside look at what goes on behind the scenes at a leading food service & hospitality organization. Fifty years ago, FLIK was launched by Chef Rudi Flik and Julie Flik. Their values of authenticity, people first, sustainability, wellness, and leadership still guide us.  The FLIK service culture has our team members at its heart; we are in the business of creating emotion for our teams and guests alike.

 

Position Summary:

We are seeking a motivated and people-oriented Human Resources Intern to join our team. This internship offers hands-on experience in various HR functions, including employee engagement, onboarding, and workplace culture initiatives. The ideal candidate is eager to learn, collaborative, and passionate about creating positive employee experiences.

 

Key Responsibilities:

• Workplace Exposure: Collaborate with HR leadership to tour various accounts and gain insight into diverse workplace environments and employee needs.
• Employee Engagement: Serve as a panelist for initiatives such as “Conversation for Change,” contributing to meaningful dialogue and cultural awareness.
• Team Building & Events: Participate in planning and executing employee engagement activities, including team-building initiatives and brainstorming future events.
• Onboarding Support: Assist with onboarding processes by preparing materials and helping new hires acclimate to company policies, procedures, and culture.

 

Internship candidates must meet the criteria below to be eligible for the FLIK Internship Experience Program:

1. Applicants must be currently enrolled in a college or professional program and/or have 1 year of industry experience
2. Meet university’s GPA requirement for Internship
3. Successful completion of relevant Intro to Hospitality coursework
4. Must be available to work 20 - 40 hours a week based on business needs & internship requ
