Support the management of a team of derivative specialists responsible for the daily settlement and payment process and resolve complex issues as they are addressed to the group. Enhance the current processes and develop new processes to improve the team’s overall efficiency.

Manage the daily processes and resolve complex issues as they are addressed to the group
• Enhance or develop new processes to improve the group’s overall efficiency
• Proven ability to work closely with IT developers including the writing of technical spec documents
• Support manager on cost benefit analysis of large scale initiatives
• Support manager with the anticipation and development of the future projects of the team which adhere to the departments needs
• Support manager with new derivative usage (new trade types, reinsurance agreement support)
• Develop the group’s policies and procedures
• Develop and oversee the training of the individuals within the specific functions
• Support manager with onboarding new derivative counterparties
• Support manager with relationship management with derivative counterparties

Oversee the following daily functions to be performed primarily by the team and to act as a backup as needed
• Daily collateral management and reporting
• Trade capture of all derivative trades
• Derivative Reporting
• Derivative Pricing
• Confirmation Management
• Reconciliations with dealers and accounting system
• Interest payment monitoring
• Regulatory Compliance Management
• ISDA/CSA management
• Support the management of SOX and internal controls

Required:

• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Business Administration, Accounting, Finance, Math, Computer Science, or equivalent working experience

• 10+ years related work experience related industry experience dealing with securities/derivative operations processes including:

o 8+ years’ experience in banking relationships

o 8+ years’ experience working with external asset management

o 5+ years supervisory/management experience

o If Derivatives Ops: 5+ years of global derivative processing


Preferred:

• Reinsurance or insurance industry knowledge

Skills and Abilities

Required:

• Strong demonstrated usage of SQL and Python (or equivalent)
• Good at problem recognition and self starting to resolve the issue and propose necessary improvements to the process
• Ability to multi-task and effectively manage multiple tasks and projects, including the ability to re-prioritize tasks constantly based on the level of activity generated by the team and other associates.
• Highly advanced people management skills, demonstrating the ability to lead, mentor, and develop associates; including the ability to delegate key areas of responsibility
• Highly advanced ability to liaise with individuals across a wide variety of operational, functional and technical disciplines
• Highly advanced ability to translate business needs and problems into viable/ accepted solutions
• Ability to quickly adapt to new methods, work under tight deadlines and stressful conditions
• Highly advanced oral and written communication skills, demonstrating the ability to convey business terminology that is meaningful and well received by all stakeholders, including customers and managed associates
• Highly advanced investigative, analytical and problem solving skills
• Advanced skills in customer relationship management and change management
• Ability to resolve conflict and foster teamwork
• Advanced persuasion and negotiation skills when working with internal/ external customers
• Advanced Word and Excel
• Advanced knowledge of broad investments business practices
• Very good ability to balance detail with departmental goals/ objectives
• Advanced knowledge of derivative processing
• Advanced knowledge of ISDA documentation
• Intermediate knowledge of Dodd Frank regulations
• Extensive knowledge of databases and prototyping automated data solutions
