In your partnership with the business, Tax Leadership, and global Tax SMEs you'll offer technical support, assistance with identifying relevant alternative dispute strategies, and driving best practices across the markets. Collaboration will be key in this role. This is an opportunity to join a growing Global Controversy tax team, at the scale of Fortune #1. You will serve as a HQ partner and key resource for Tax Controversy for all U.S. Federal controversy matters and drive value through the identification and resolution of issues and opportunities
What you'll do...
- Support the development of U.S. Federal strategies to successfully resolve U.S. income tax controversies
- Provide your insight and expertise on complex tax matters to ensure tax positions are thoroughly vetted, documented, and there is utmost integrity in our reporting for controversy matters.
- Support the development of and drive strategies to address crafting and executing audit plans, negotiation strategies, managing appeals, and at times supporting complex tax litigation matters
- Collaborate with the Enterprise and Tax Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) in the implementation and execution of foreign audit plans, along with alternative dispute resolution strategies
- Support the continuous improvement of global best practices, including the analysis; documentation of uncertain tax positions, documentation of ongoing controversies, and risk mitigation efforts.
- Monitor global tax developments to ensure we remain up to date on tax positions.
What you’ll bring:
- 6-10+ years of overall experience related to income tax at a U.S. multinational corporation, with a strong understanding of international tax concepts
- 4+ years of tax controversy included in your overall experience (ideally including litigation experience)
- Extensive knowledge of the IRS examination process with a strong track record of procedural compliance
- Undergraduate degree in Accounting or Finance
- MBA, Master’s in Accountancy or Tax, or a JD with a Tax LL.M.
