Project Overview:

Bechtel Parsons Blue Grass is the systems contractor selected by the Department of Defense’s Assembled Chemical Weapons Alternatives program to design, build, systemize, test, operate, and close a facility to destroy the chemical weapons stockpile at the Blue Grass Army Depot in Richmond, Kentucky. The Blue Grass Chemical Agent-Destruction Pilot Plant (BGCAPP) will safely destroy 523 tons of mustard and nerve agent in projectiles and rockets. Neutralization followed by supercritical water oxidation is the technology selected by the Department of Defense to destroy the nerve agent, while the Explosive Destruction Technology will be used to destroy the mustard in the Blue Grass chemical weapons stockpile.

 

Candidates for unescorted access to the Chemical Limited Area must successfully clear National Agency Check with Local Check (NACLC). All employees are subject and agree to random drug and alcohol testing as a condition of employment. The ability to obtain/maintain access to the Blue Grass Army Depot is required. Must be physically fit and able to work safely at an operating plant. Eligible applicants must be a US Citizen and successfully go through a government screening process. Based on project goals and objectives, candidates established within our local community are desirable.

 

Job Summary:

The Blue Grass Chemical Agent-Destruction Pilot Plant (BGCAPP) is looking for a Business Services Project Specialist at the Richmond, KY site location. This position will report to the Business Services Manager at the BGCAPP project.

 

In preparation of project’s Closure Phase, the candidate will work on a variety of cross-functional project issues of diverse scope requiring analysis of data and resources. When working on assigned special projects, the candidate will determine how to meet schedules and goals and recommend solutions to unusual and complex problems specific to the project and Bechtel corporate level.  #LI-HB1

 

Major Responsibilities:

  • Working collaboratively with the Joint Venture teaming partner and subcontractors on Prime Contract related activities.
  • Recommending solutions to unusual and complex problems (e.g., project policy and procedures) where guidelines are not clearly defined.
  • Organizing, leading and/or executing special projects in support of workforce transition and close out.
  • Organizing, leading and/or executing the planning and management of end of mission project process reductions and closeout initiatives such as employee lead teams, surety assistance, and contract data requirements list (CDRL) deliverables.
  • Assisting Business Services Manager with Contract closeout of old contract and inactive Contract Line Item Numbers (CLINs).
  • Organizing, leading and executing the response and management of project related employee feedback (e.g. Ask Management)
  • Other duties as assigned in support of Management initiatives.

 

Education and Experience Requirements:

Level 1

  • Requires bachelor's degree (or international equivalent) and 8-10 years of relevant experience or 12-14 years of relevant work experience

Level 2

  • Requires bachelor's degree (or international equivalent) and 10-13 years of relevant experience or 14-17 years of relevant work experience
