Sr. Technical Writer (Temporary)

Overview

A temporary Senior Technical Writer is needed to develop high-quality web-based manufacturing instructions at our Marina CA facility. The ideal applicant possesses technical expertise, demonstrates effective communication and writing abilities, and can collaborate well with other writers, project managers, engineers, product managers, and manufacturing technicians. We are searching for writers who have experience explaining complex, integrated concepts for the manufacturing technician audience. Applicants with a background in technical writing, content development, manufacturing, or research and development, and software development are encouraged to apply.

Responsibilities

• Develop high-quality web-based manufacturing instructional documentation on proprietary authoring and version control systems. 
• Create content for how-to documents, user instructions, and tutorials for technical and manufacturing-based subjects. 
• Revise existing documents to match new functionality and integrated priorities. 
• Develop visual content to complement the written instructions.

Required

• Software Requirements
• Microsoft Office
• Experience Requirements
• HS Diploma  or GED equivalent.
• 5+ years of professional documentation experience. 
• Attention to detail for technical accuracy and consistency within minimalism writing style. 
• Proven experience in comprehending and translating technical information for a targeted audience. 
• Ability to prioritize and meet deadlines. 
• The ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment without the need for supervision. 
• Hands-on experience with workflow tools and source control systems such as Jira and Confluence.
• Results-driven approach and problem-solving ability. 
• Experience content reuse strategies. 

Desired

• Bachelor's degree in related field.
• Technical writing experience in high-tech, consumer electronics, or mobility.
• Knowledge of manufacturing methods and strategies. 
• Experience with Sharepoint and Slack

This is a temporary role, anticipated to last 3 months. The target base pay for this position is $102,200 - $136,300/yr.  The compensation package will be determined by job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.
