Description
To provide supervision, work direction and guidance to packaging floor personnel. Work closely with Production Supervisor/Manager to ensure efficient operations of all packaging lines. Provide training to packaging department personnel.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Daily:
- Coordinate line activities on a daily basis to maximize line efficiencies, maximizing line speed, maximizing line up time and minimizing labor.
- Ensure that all manufacturing specifications are followed and product and package quality are maintained.
- Make sure that all equipment is run as designed.
- Must ensure that all line performance measurements are completed accurately and on time.
- Must review the giveaway monitoring during the shift and review the daily summaries.
- Make minor equipment adjustments, minor equipment maintenance and report major problems to maintenance.
- Control packaging and product yields losses. Monitor on a shift by shift basis.
- Coordinate packaging schedule with blending supervision and IC warehouse set up drivers.
- Enforce departmental sanitation and GMP rules.
- Assist Packaging Manager/Supervisor with Safety Training.
- Assist Packaging Supervisor/Manager with Operator Training involving safe equipment operation, GMPs, material scanning and line documentation.
- Assist Packaging Manager/Supervisor with Quality Training.
- Assist Packaging Manager/Supervisor with daily line staffing.
- Assist Packaging Manager/Supervisor with completing changeovers safely and efficiently.
- Communicate with Quality Control and Maintenance Departments as needed.
Occasional, Infrequent:
- Assist in company wide and/or customer specific stock takes.
- Assist in audits or customer visits.
Requirements
WORKING CONDITIONS/PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
- Walking and standing100% of time
- Fast paced and stressful conditions at times.
COMPUTER SKILLS:
- Intermediate knowledge of Word, Excel and Outlook
- Proficient on personal computers and Syspro
ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS:
- Ability to communicate effectively in English and Spanish.
- Ability to complete assignments safely and efficiently with multiple Teams.
- Ability to motivate others and encourage “TEAM” development.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and adjust priorities.
- Ability to implement changes.
EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS:
- HS Diploma or equivalent
WORK EXPERIENCE:
- Previous Machine Operator experience with high speed filling equipment.
