Position Summary...
The Sparky Assistant team under Emerging Technologies is bringing a Gen AI driven shopping experience to Walmart customers. Our team builds new experiences that help customers through their discovery and decision-making process to reduce cognitive load during their shopping journeys. This collaborative team works very closely with the data science, product and design teams to rapidly iterate and transform the shopping experience. - Design, build, test and deploy software for distributed microservices with specific business logic to production with continuous integration frameworks and event driven frameworks.
- Develop and deploy software tools, programs, and metric monitoring processes to address production issues and operation cost.
- Interact with Walmart engineering teams across geographies to leverage expertise and contribute to the tech community.
- Engage with Product Management and Business to drive the agenda, set your priorities and deliver awesome products.
- Perform accurate documentation and maintenance of software functionality.
- Good knowledge of algorithms with problem solving and troubleshooting skills
- Must be self-directed, self-learner, analytical, and works well in a team environment
What you'll bring:
- A Bachelor's degree or higher in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
- 3+ years of experience in design and development of consumer-facing software.
- Strong computer science fundamentals: data structures, algorithms design patterns.
- Strong desire to drive change, and ability to adapt to change quickly.
- Strong hands-on development skills to prototype technical solutions.
- Strong oral and written communication skills
- Good problem-solving attitude and analytical skills
- Ability to balance the long-term "big picture" and short-term implications of design decisions.
- Practical knowledge of agile software development methodologies
- Expertise in reviewing implementations, conducting code reviews, quality assurance
- Excellent communication skills and ability to work effectively with engineers, product managers, and business stakeholders alike
