 ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS / RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Site Oversight: Manage day-to-day operations of the site, ensuring seamless coordination and alignment with organizational goals.
  • Safety and Compliance: Serve as a role model for safety, prioritizing and enforcing company protocols and regulatory compliance to maintain a safe and secure work environment.
  • Leadership: Lead and mentor site teams to foster a culture of safety, excellence, teamwork, and continuous improvement. Support individuals through change, uphold Samuel’s policies and values, and clearly communicate organizational mission and strategies in a relatable way. Ensure that safety, quality, and productivity remain top priorities in all activities.
  • Compliance and Quality Assurance: Ensure the site operates in adherence to company standards, policies, and regulatory requirements. Develop and execute manufacturing plans and procedures to meet customer and company quality standards.
  • Continuous Improvement: Promote a culture of continuous improvement and innovation by identifying and implementing opportunities to enhance operations and customer satisfaction. Actively contribute to strategic planning and execution.
  • Process Optimization: Identify areas for operational improvement and implement strategies to increase efficiency, reduce costs, and improve performance. Develop production schedules and coordinate activities to meet customer expectations for quality and delivery.
  • Financial Accountability: Monitor financial metrics and draw accurate conclusions to support sound decision-making. Manage the annual operations budget, ensuring labor and expense targets are met. Perform monthly budget variance analyses and report root causes and corrective actions.
  • Resource Allocation: Allocate site resources—including personnel, equipment, and budget—efficiently to support optimal performance. Recruit, hire, train, and manage staff while ensuring accountability and alignment with Samuel’s culture.
  • Performance Metrics: Establish, track, and report on key performance indicators (KPIs) to monitor site performance, including productivity, scrap, and returns.
  • Problem Solving: Resolve operational issues promptly by collaborating with cross-functional teams. Encourage teamwork and strategic thinking while using problem-solving tools (e.g., DMAIC, value stream mapping) to address productivity concerns.
  • Strategic Planning: Develop and implement operational strategies aligned with broader business objectives. Create and manage a capital plan for plant maintenance and long-term site goals, overseeing capital projects from proposal through completion.
  • Communication: Maintain clear, consistent communication within the site and with senior leadership to ensure transparency and alignment. Share information and feedback effectively in both written and verbal formats.
  • Vendor and Supplier Relations: Partner with department leads to maintain strong relationships with vendors and suppliers, ensuring reliable access to required resources and services.
  • Senior Site Leader: Provide daily leadership across all site departments, including both direct and indirect reports. Serve as the primary point of contact for senior SESG leadership regarding site performance and needs.
