The Associated Students of the University of Nevada (ASUN) is made up of every undergraduate student at the University of Nevada. ASUN provides a means for students to voice concerns and address issues at the university, local, state, national and international levels. 

Responsibilities 

The duties of Department of IDEA Commissioners are as follows: 

• Commissioner of Social Justice and Policy: 

• Shall track University, local, state and national policies that affect students, as well as research diverse and inclusive initiatives happening at other institutions. The Commissioner of Social Justice and Policy shall research and analyze policy and provide data for the Director to present to the Senate. 

• Commissioner of Projects and Events: 

• Shall coordinate and organize any events, initiatives and efforts to educate students, faculty and staff on diverse topics, and to empower under-represented students. 

• Commissioner of Marketing and Outreach: 

• Shall mediate communication between the Department and various multicultural groups and organizations both on campus and in the community, as well as aid in the promotion and marketing of department projects and events, to more effectively address specific concerns of underrepresented students and faculty and allow for more efficient execution of projects, events and initiatives

• Additional duties: 

• Shall act as liaisons between students that identify in diverse groups ranging from, but not limited to: race, culture, LGBTQIA+, internationalism, socioeconomic status, disabilities and religion, as appointed by the Director 

• Shall be responsible for highlighting and addressing issues to their specific breaches and plan their own events catering to their designated groups of people.
