Key responsibilities
Responsible for the non-US and US international law aspects of quarterly and annual global US GAAP tax provision
- Responsible for quarterly FIN18, soft-close, and year-end close procedures and preparing quarterly and annual review analytics.
- Responsible for timely provision of documents to financial auditor and efficient management of quarterly and annual audit procedures related to non-US and US international tax matters.
- Supports continuous improvement with quarterly and annual processes, especially in reducing workload of non-tax teams.
Responsible for the preparation of US GAAP documentation
- Prepares APB23 and VA memoranda.
- Prepares non-US aspects of DTA and DTL positions.
- Collects/Prepares any documentation requested by financial auditor related to non-US and US international tax matters.
- Reviews non-US and US international tax aspects of all M&A related disclosures and documentation
Supports non-US and US international law aspects of structuring and compliance
- Supports modelling efforts related to non-US and US international law provisions.
- Performs first or second level review of US international calculations in ITS Engine and Pillar Two calculations in Pillar II Model for US GAAP provision process.
- Provides Federal Tax & Simplification Lead and external providers appropriate non-US and US international law inputs to US tax returns.
- Reviews all US international law aspects of US tax returns.
Responsible for the elimination of non-US legal entities and legacy arrangements
- Works with VP Tax, Tax Operations Lead, and external advisors to establish elimination step plans and reviews step plans with key functional and BU representatives.
- Documents US, non-US, US GAAP, and OECD Pillar Two tax analysis of steps in detailed internal memoranda, with support from external advisors, as required.
- Establishes repositories for all supporting documentation and responsible for execution.
Responsible for key attribute review and maintenance
- Maintains US tax attribute tracking and ensures it is kept timely (PTEP, Basis, 986/987/988 positions, etc.)
- Establish repositories for all supporting documentation to support current and future positions.
Manages a team of 2-4 that helps support international tax and simplification efforts
- Establishes roles and responsibilities for team that are aligned to the broader tax team.
- Responsible for training, development, assessment, and mentoring of team.
- Responsible for hiring team members and management of staff related issues.
What we’re looking for
- Must have 15+ years of relevant, non-US tax, US international tax, and ASC740 experience and must be able to demonstrate a practical application of that experience.
- Must have experience of working as part of a cross-functional team, the ability to build relationships with all levels of the organization, and the ability to influence senior stakeholders.
- Must have experience of outlining complex tax issues to senior management.
- Must have a positive, highly analytical, solutions-focused, materiality-led, continuous improvement focused mind-set.
- Must be results focused with a sense of urgency in execution.
- Must have advanced-level computer skills (Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Word, Microsoft PowerPoint) and must have an ability to appreciate the next generation software (e.g., PowerBi).
