Collins Aerospace has a need for a Sr. Configuration Management professional who will work with the Configuration Management team, interfacing with engineering to assist in the development, compliance and maintenance of configuration management company standards and processes at our Bohemia, NY facility.
This role will be an opportunity to perform direction for technical/business support in the Engineering Department and working with the Configuration Management team with daily documentation objectives.
You will bring your background within engineering and configuration management along with experience with Teamcenter. You will help manage the CAD engineering drawings and BOM’s along with the traceability of linked parts and commodities.
This is an Onsite position, relocation is available for qualified candidates.
What You Will Do:
- Manage Data for engineering changes, 3D models, drawings, and documentation in the PLM system.
- Lead Change Control Board during change meetings to ensure all parties agree with proposed changes, and that all critical information has been entered in the change request.
- Support engineering team with problem resolution when issues arise in the workflows.
- Help develop a harmonized lighting configuration management culture with other lighting sites.
- Review data for accuracy according to procedures and global trade policies to reduce costly turnback’s.
- Maintain engineering turnback tracker and help develop KPIs for process improvements.
What You Will Learn:
- Gain exposure to aerospace lighting products from various value streams such as exterior lighting, interior lighting, and military lighting.
- Develop skills in configuration management and leadership within a high-performance team.
- Enhance your expertise in regulatory and requirements for Lighting products, including AS9100, AS9116, SAE EIA-649, STC, PMA, and TSO.
Qualifications You Must Have:
- Bachelor’s degree and 5 years of relevant experience OR
- Advance degree and 3 years of relevant experience OR
- In absence of a degree, 9 years of relevant experience is required.

Qualifications We Prefer:
- Experience working in the aerospace industry.
- Experience with Configuration Management
- Experience with Teamcenter
- Knowledge of working with a PLM data base management system
