We’re seeking a Product Design Engineer who is equal parts designer, engineer, and problem solver. You’ll support the charge on creating premium, design-forward kitchen tools that enhance the cooking experience and embody the Misen brand. You’ll be part visionary, part tactician—taking products from rough sketches to elegant, manufacturable designs. With an eye for detail and a passion for excellence, you’ll play a critical role in building products that our customers love to use (and rave about).

What you’ll do:

• Lead the end-to-end product design process, from initial concept sketching and ideation through to manufacturing and continual product improvement.

• Develop innovative, design-forward products that align with Misen’s mission and aesthetic.

• Oversee manufacturing engineering processes, ensuring all products meet high standards for quality and performance.

• Collaborate with factory engineers to refine production processes and ensure flawless execution.

• Create and maintain technical documentation, including 2-D sketches, CAD drawings, prototypes, and final specifications.

• Communicate progress to stakeholders and integrate feedback into the design cycle.

Skills you’ll bring:

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Product Design, or a related field.

• 7+ years of experience in product design or engineering, with a focus on consumer hard goods.

• Expertise in manufacturing engineering and an OEM environment, with a strong grasp of materials and processes.

• Proven ability to blend creative vision with practical engineering constraints.

• Proficiency in CAD software and modern design tools.

• Experience with quality control systems and manufacturing qualification processes.

• Familiarity with intellectual property protection and patent strategies.

Bonus points for:

• A background in kitchen or home goods products.

• Knowledge of AI applications in product design and engineering.

• A knack for working efficiently as a team of one—while maintaining impeccable standards.

What to expect in your first few months:

First 30 Days:

• Get up to speed on Misen’s product development processes and tools.

• Gain an understanding of Misen’s Brand values.

• Collaborate with the product team to map out upcoming design cycles.

• Use Misen products in the kitchen to understand the balance between form and function. 

First 60 Days:

• Take full ownership of design and engineering responsibilities in new and existing products in development. 

• Develop prototypes for new product concepts based on Roadmap and solicit feedback from stakeholders.
