Capital Blue Cross is seeking an experienced and visionary Senior Vice President, Chief Information Officer (SVP, CIO) to join our executive team. As the Senior Vice President, Chief Information Officer, you will oversee the company’s entire IT strategy, ensuring that all technology systems, infrastructure, and security are aligned with Capital Blue Cross family of companies’ (Capital) business goals. Will drive innovation and optimize technology investments to enhance operational efficiency and value, while leading a dynamic team of IT professionals. This is a key leadership role that directly impacts the future of the business, including ensuring the technical and analytical infrastructure to support the corporation’s medical value strategy and leading digital transformation initiatives to support Capital’s growth strategy.

The Senior Vice President, Chief Information Officer is directly responsible for implementing the most up-to-date and proven technology solutions to further the growth and success of Capital. Using innovation and creativity to leverage cutting-edge technology to ensure exceptional customer experience, while maintaining a clear vision of where Capital will be in the next five years and what technologies will be required to reach that future state is key to the role. Additionally, the Senior Vice President, Chief Information Officer will work in concert with the Executive Leadership Team and the overall technology team to support business operations by improving cost effectiveness, service quality, innovation, and enhancement.

Responsibilities and Qualifications

  • Leadership & Strategy: Collaborate with the executive team to align technology initiatives with business objectives. Lead the development and execution of Capital’s technology roadmap, identifying opportunities to innovate and drive business success.
  • Digital Transformation: Lead digital transformation efforts, optimizing technology systems and platforms for scalability, security, and operational efficiency.
  • Technology Infrastructure: Oversee the development and maintenance of technology systems, ensuring they support Capital’s data processing, communications, and growth needs.
  • Cybersecurity & Risk Management: Lead the creation of robust cybersecurity strategies, implementing data governance and risk management practices to safeguard Capital’s assets.
  • Vendor & Partner Relationships: Manage technology vendor relationships and select key partners to ensure the best solutions are implemented for the company.
  • Data Analytics & Reporting: Champion data-driven decision-making by implementing analytics tools to provide insights for operational improvement and strategic planning.
  • Project Management and Governance: Understand the project delivery lifecycle.
  • Team Leadership: Manage and mentor a team of IT professionals, fostering development and accountability. Lead by example to build a high-performing and collaborative team culture.
  • Cross-functional Collaboration: Work closely with business leaders and cross-functional teams to ensure successful project execution and meet organizational goals.
