Senior Financial Reporting Accountant

Overview

Responsibilities within the financial reporting process include performing month-end close procedures, financial statement preparation and analysis, reconciliation of accounts, external audit coordination and GAAP implementations and research.

Job Specific Responsibilities:

• Exercising accounting control over a group of general ledger accounts
• Recording, analyzing and interpreting financial transactions and communicating results to management
• Reconciling general ledger account balances
• Creating financial statements or other reports in conformity with GAAP or other regulatory standards
• Researching technical accounting issues and assisting in new standard implementations
• Assisting in coordination of external audit
• Serving as a subject matter expert on projects which require specialized accounting knowledge, research, and application of assigned areas
• Making recommendations to management for problem resolution
• Using various software applications such as spreadsheets, relational databases, statistical packages, and graphics packages to assemble, manipulate and/or format data and/or reports
• Performing additional duties as assigned

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university in accounting or closely related equivalent required.
• 2+ years of related accounting work experience preferred.
• CPA or CPA candidate preferred.
• GAAP research experience preferred. 
• Excellent organizational, computer, and communication skills are required.
