The Smart Building Performance Lead (SBPL) will support portfolio-wide operational teams on the Client account through leveraging a newly deployed Smart Building operational data and analytics technology platform. The position will have primary responsibility for the administration and day-to-day operation of the Smart Building OT platform, analyzing portfolio and building-level data and trends, and supporting account leadership and building-level teams maximize the operational benefit of the technology and associated processes. In depth Smart Building OT platform training will ensure a successful transition into the role for the right candidate.Job Description
Job Responsibilities:
System management - the SBPL will ensure the Smart Building OT platform operates as designed, identifies potential gaps in the system configuration, and works with end-users and the vendor to introduce additional functionality and capabilities as they are identified and requested.
The SBPL will:
• Act as the System Administrator to ensure end-users and accounts are configured correctly, and users are assigned to the correct roles and access levels.
• Troubleshoot day-to-day issues that may arise within the Smart Building OT platform and initiate corrective action with BAS team, on-site building level teams, or third party vendor as required.
• Work with account leadership and analytics/business intelligence support to develop required analytics and reporting capabilities.
Building Performance – the power of the data platform centers around building and system performance and the ability to monitor, measure, analyze, visualize, and manage data trends or specific instances. The SBPL role will be central to helping Client transition into a more data-centric approach to managing and maintaining its buildings. In this role, the SBPL will support and coordinate with the BAS team, on-site building engineers, facility managers, and technicians as a subject matter expert on data, analytics, and operational performance to achieve the following:
• Coordinate with on-site building engineers, facility managers, and regional teams as a subject matter expert on data and building system performance preventative maintenance schedules and capital project planning in a collaborative environment using data and analytics as critical decision criteria.
• Support the operational and technical functionality of building systems and infrastructure, including supporting operational KPIs, and monitoring data and analytics outputs accordingly.
• Execute retro-commissioning (RCx) studies of buildings and systems: primarily data-based remote monitoring and MBCx activities.
• Leverages the data platform and analytics to help site teams identify potential issues or improvement opportunities. Coordinates findings with site teams.
• Analyze data from building systems to identify and prioritize optimization opportunities and potential issues (faults). Initiative and route work orders accordingly.
Support energy management, sustainability, and facility/property management teams as required to develop ROI calculations, secure budgets, and support improvement projects.
• Support the measurement and verification (M&V) of key metrics in areas such as energy or other operating expense reductions where supporting system data is available. Identify additional data sources that may be integrated into the platform that support key metrics.
• Coordinate with and support site teams to triage incoming issues, submit and manage work orders, and coordinate with vendors and C&W personnel in the field to verify resolution of issues
• Contribute to implementing and ongoing management of event (fault detection & diagnostics (FDD)) rules and capabilities within the data platform.
• Identify opportunities for projects for building hardware integrations (meters, control systems, gateways, etc.) and software implementation that support the growth of a data-driven building management environment.
• Support site teams to coordinate the monitoring of critical systems for emergency response scenarios..
• Coordinate with and support site teams on effective adoption and utilization of the OT data system in day-to-day operations focusing on streamlining existing processes and enhancing operations through data, analytics, and automated workflow where applicable. Facilitate site adoption by providing subject matter expertise and support.
Required qualifications:
• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Architectural Engineering (or similar technical degree with directly applicable experience in building systems)
