Job Summary:
The Outreach Team Supervisor is responsible for coordinating North Valley regional outreach efforts to identify and communicate with rural homeless at-risk veterans and their families who may be eligible for mental health and/or support services under the California Veterans Health Initiative (CVHI Program). Under the supervision of the CVHI Program Director, the Team Supervisor supervises the North Valley Region outreach team that includes the Peer Support Specialists and Outreach Navigators in Chico-Butte, Sacramento and Eureka areas. The Outreach Team Supervisor will collaborate with the outreach team, Case Managers and outpatient clinical services to share best practices, align outreach activities, measure the effectiveness of those activities, and design and implement new activities that utilize all available communication channels to reach the target client population.
Job Duties:
- Collaborate with the Communications Director, CVHI Program Director, Peer Support Specialists and Case Managers to develop and implement a coordinated, strategic geographical outreach and calendar that adheres to the specific aims of the CVHI-MHS Grant.
- Promote the CVHI Program as well as Nation’s Finest’s mission, values, and service offerings to ensure the benefits of the program and Nation’s Finest’s role as an CVHI grantee are understood by eligible veterans, their families, and the community at large.
- Host and attend community events.
- Engage in online conversations pertaining to the CVHI Program and issues affecting rural veterans and their families, including managing the agency’s website and social media presence to ensure that updated and accurate information and resources are being shared consistently.
- Monitor online dialogue and feedback, develop and track key communication and enrollment metrics, and make recommendations for improvement.
- Prepare and deliver targeted digital, print, and in-person communications (e.g., press releases, social media posts, presentations, etc.) to community partners and other veteran groups and social service agencies.
- Adhere to the policies and procedures outlined in the CVHI Program guide and manual.
- Develop and maintain lists and databases of successful client recruitment locations and key contacts in the community.
- Perform other related duties as directed.
Educational Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in Communications, Marketing, or related field, or, equivalent combination of education and professional work experience.
Qualifications:
- 3+ years supervisory experience
- Driver’s License with clear DMV record.
- Must have daily use of a vehicle and be available and willing to travel to various locations.
- A Veteran of the U.S military or military-related family member is preferred.
- Prior experience in mental health outreach within community and/or veteran organizations is preferred.
- Experience in the nonprofit sector is desirable but not required.
- Excellent written and oral communications skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite of products.
- Familiarity with Adobe Creative Cloud suite of products.
- Ability to treat all clients and coworkers with dignity and respect.
- Ability to work in a team environment and meet regularly with senior program staff to coordinate activities, propose changes, and provide outreach updates.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills.
- Flexibility and willingness to manage multiple projects in a work environment with changing priorities.
- Reliably detail-oriented.
- Experience working with social media platforms.
- Ability to follow through on assigned tasks independently
- Ability to communicate with vulnerable populations, public community groups, and various levels of staff.
- Able to maintain a cooperative working relationship with residents and staff.
Physical Requirements:
Requires the ability to occasionally bend, stoop, reach, lift, and move or carry office supplies and materials weighing 20 pounds or less. Finger dexterity required for computer keyboard operation. Ability to drive a motor vehicle and sit or stand for periods of time.
Work Environment:
Team-oriented office environments, outdoor and indoor event environments potentially with crowds of people. Travel required.
