About the role

Overview

The Information Technology Manager will be a highly motivated and strategic leader responsible for overseeing the technology strategy, operations, and infrastructure of the company. This individual will play a pivotal role in shaping the company's technology vision, ensuring the effective operation of IT systems, and managing the execution of the day-to-day technology-related projects. This role will combine leadership, strategic planning, and hands-on execution to support both short-term and long-term business objectives. This role includes leading a team of IT professionals and has oversight of the IT budget.

Responsibilities

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

 

Strategic Leadership:

  • Develop and implement a comprehensive technology strategy that aligns with the company’s business goals.
  • Drive digital transformation initiatives and innovation to improve operational efficiency, scalability, and customer experience.
  • Identify opportunities for technology improvements and lead the implementation of new tools, systems, and processes.
  • Stay ahead of industry trends, emerging technologies, and competitors to ensure the company’s technology is cutting-edge and competitive.
  • Provide strategic leadership in budgeting, resource allocation, and risk management.
  • Collaborate with senior leadership to define the company’s overall business strategy and its technological needs.
  • Mentor and develop the IT team, fostering a culture of continuous improvement.

Technology Management:

  • Work and collaborate with Senior managers that oversee the company’s day-to-day IT operations, including network management, system administration, security protocols, and hardware/software management.
  • Manage and lead the IT team, providing guidance, training, support, and professional development opportunities.
  • Ensure the effective implementation and support of enterprise software, applications, hardware, and IT infrastructure.
  • Develop, monitor, and improve IT policies and procedures to ensure business continuity, data protection, and compliance with relevant regulations.
  • Manage relationships with third-party vendors, consultants, and service providers, ensuring that services meet company standards and budget requirements.
  • Oversee the IT department budget to support and manage IT projects through the entire lifecycle.

Cybersecurity & Data Protection:

  • Oversee the management that develops and enforces security measures to protect the company’s data, intellectual property, and technology assets.
  • Ensure that IT systems are secure, reliable, and compliant with data protection laws and industry standards.

Collaboration and Communication:

  • Work closely with other departments to understand their technology needs and provide tailored solutions across the company.
  • Communicate technology strategies and changes to both technical and non-technical stakeholders across the company.
  • Provide regular project updates and reports on IT performance, issues, and progress toward objectives to executive leadership.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field required.
  • Master’s degree preferred.
  • Eight or more years of experience in an IT management and leadership role required.
  • Five or more years of experience in a senior or executive-level position required.
  • Proven experience managing IT infrastructure, software, and hardware solutions in a corporate environment.
  • Strong understanding of emerging technologies, digital transformation, and innovation within the tech landscape.
  • Demonstrated experience in developing and executing strategic technology plans.
  • Expertise in network and systems administration, cloud computing, cybersecurity, and data management.
  • Proven experience in vendor management and contract negotiations.
  • Exceptional leadership, organizational, and communication skills.
  • Experience with JDE-Enterprise 1 ERP system is preferred.
  • Experience in the private sector is a plus.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, growing environment.
  • A hands-on, results-oriented leader who can work both strategically and operationally.
