Job Summary:
Monitors and manages the surgical supply system ensuring it operates in a fiscally sound and efficient manner by managing surgical supplies and equipment from acquisition to disposition. Leads and conducts periodic physical inventories and cycle counting. Updates and maintains surgery inventory and tracking system in a cost effective manner and ensures an accurate account of supplies. Coordinates small program(s) with limited budget/impact.
Job Requirements:
Education and Work Experience:
- High School Education/GED or equivalent: Required
- Associate’s/Technical Degree or equivalent combination of education/related experience: Preferred
- Two years' technical experience: Preferred
Essential Functions:
- Assures that all surgical instrumentation and equipment is kept in good repair and adequate surgery inventory is maintained in a cost effective manner.
- Coordinates all returned and recalled items in a timely manner and notifies user of back orders and works to identify alternative product of supply streams.
- Produces statistical reports as requested. Analyzes usage to identify areas of needed improvement. Assists and supports process improvement solutions to optimize inventory, system and effective cost objectives.
- Acts as a resource regarding special supply requests. Participates in the planning and implementing of new procedures, policies and systems. Collaborates and communicates with providers, facilities, and members of department.
- Performs other job-related duties as assigned.
