About the role
Lead the Account Marketing Team within the Domestic Wholesale Sales Division to support both in-store and online brand marketing tactics in wholesale accounts in order to promote brand awareness, tell the brand story, and message product technologies. In collaboration with the domestic wholesale sales team and retailer account marketing teams, drive growth for the wholesale division through compelling marketing campaigns designed specifically for each account. Direct the Account Marketing Team to ensure on-time, effective and on-brand marketing campaigns execute at the wholesale partners’ points of sale. Manage the high-level project workflow of the team from start to finish, including review and analysis of marketing proposals, approvals of budgets with Sales and Sales Analyst teams, guiding on the creative development process with outside vendors and/or internal creative team, and communicating regularly with external account teams. Collaborate regularly with the field marketing team to ensure marketing dollars are being maximized through high rates of in-store marketing compliance.
JOB PURPOSE-
- Be an expert on the individualized marketing strategies, needs and requirements of the domestic wholesale accounts, inclusive of both in-store and digital tactics. Understand the account’s current and future businesses in order to make sound marketing decisions.
- Proactively outreach to key account contacts on a regular cadence to identify opportunities, get ahead of marketing planning and partner for seamless execution
- Take an omni approach to each larger scale marketing campaign to ensure all touch points including in-store and digital are in sync
- Be the go-to resource for the Sales Team for all marketing initiatives. Partner with domestic Sales Managers and Reps to continually identify new marketing opportunities.
- In conjunction with Account Marketing Project Managers/Coordinators, oversee entire life cycle and workflow of Skechers account marketing projects. Manage the development of multiple projects simultaneously from large format, long-term production projects to art-only seasonal graphic requests, to digital creative - from project inception to final execution
- Work with Sales/Sales Analysts to evaluate ROI at the conclusion of marketing campaigns in order to make informed decisions on future marketing spend
- Manage Marketing Request Form procedure and budget approval process for each marketing campaign/tactic, including liaising between Sales (managers/reps), Sales Support, Sales Analysts and account
- With Project Coordinators, ensure timely follow up with account contacts for clear communication on all creative development, logistics, project status, and deadlines
- With In-Store Coordinator, conduct regular field team meetings to discuss current in-store campaigns, review field reporting system to analyze marketing compliance, and develop an action plan to address any issues
- With Digital Coordinator, review campaign performance provided by accounts at the conclusion of digital marketing campaigns to analyze success metrics and identify opportunities for future
- Give creative direction to team prior to submitting graphic work orders to the Creative Team in order to ensure clear requests are processed
- Provide guidance on design and production/manufacturing for short-term and long-term in-store rollouts
- Ensure weekly project status meeting (WIP Meeting) is efficient and productive by leading and guiding the internal account marketing team while they share in-store and digital project status. Confirm updates and budget information captured in project management platform (Smartsheet) is accurate.
ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES-
- Bi-annual Buy Meeting presentations and support, including building decks, attending meetings and presenting in front of a group. (location: onsite Manhattan Beach)
- Sales Conference marketing presentations, including building decks and presenting in front of a group. (location: onsite Manhattan Beach)
- Lead and present in additional account meetings as needed (location: onsite and offsite at partner offices)
- Field visits to enhance understanding and expertise of Skechers marketing in domestic wholesale channel and to have finger on the pulse of competitor campaigns

- Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Articulate and clear communicator.
- Strong public speaking skills in front of large and small groups. Must be able to present and communicate effectively and persuasively with internal and external business partners.
