As a Director of Portfolio Operations within PNC's Riverarch Capital organization, you will be based in Pittsburgh, PA.

PNC Riverarch Capital, the private equity affiliate of PNC Financial Services Group, is focused on making control investments in privately held middle-market companies headquartered in North America. The firm seeks well-positioned companies where it can invest $10 million to $100 million of equity capital, primarily as a control investor in leveraged and management buyouts. The firm invests across a variety of industry sectors, including outsourced services, niche manufacturing, and value-added distribution. PNC’s private equity program was started in 1982 and has provided over $1.5 billion of equity capital to more than 100 companies. We are investing from a committed capital pool of $650 million, a substantial majority of which remains uninvested and available.

Job Description

  • Identifies, originates, structures, negotiates, closes and manages investment transactions. Performs or oversees advanced analytical and operational activities related to proposed deals and existing investments. Focuses on the suitability and risk of individual investments. Develops deal referral sources and screens new investment opportunities.
  • Sources, screens and selects from broad range of investment opportunities. Focuses on business development, marketing and developing deal flow.
  • Oversees in-depth analyses of prospective new investments including historical/projected financial results, industry research and risk factors. Determines acceptability of potential investments. Develops and manages due diligence procedures for prospective investments. Leads or participates in negotiations between sellers, their advisors and the company. Leads or participates in the negotiation and development of legal documentation for prospective investments. May assist in efforts to raise senior capital for potential management buyout transactions.
  • Monitors the financial and operating performance of existing investments. May be a member of the Board of Directors of existing portfolio companies. Communicates internally with finance/accounting team to report on portfolio companies.
  • Reviews prospective investment opportunities, deal write-up and due diligence; provides insight on potential investments and portfolio initiatives as part of the broader group. Participates in recruiting, mentoring and coaching other team members.
