<p><strong>Position Summary</strong><br>Gelfand, Rennert & Feldman is seeking a Staff Tax Accountant, ideally with entertainment business management experience, to join our team of dedicated professionals. The Staff Accountant is responsible for the preparation of various reports in support of servicing clients, preparation of simple to moderately complex tax returns, as well as tax projections and tax research. This role operates on a hybrid schedule out of our Nashville, TN office. </p> <p><strong>Primary Responsibilities</strong></p> <ul> <li>Prepare individual, corporate (S corp and C corp), partnership, estate, trust, fiduciary, and exempt organization tax returns</li> <li>Review General Ledger and reports to assist in preparation of tax projections</li> <li>Perform tax research and planning, as needed, to solve client’s tax issues</li> <li>Correspondence regarding tax notices, jurisdictional issues, and/or tax audits</li> <li>Prepare closeouts for loan-out corporations and analyzing payroll withholding requirements for federal and state</li> <li>Assist in the preparation of financial reports that may include net worth statements, cash flow schedules, meeting packages, budgets, investment analysis, tour reconciliations, etc.</li> <li>Assist with state, local, and international tax clearances for touring artists</li> <li>Assist client service team with other projects, as necessary</li> </ul> <p><strong>Qualifications</strong></p> <ul> <li>1+ years of experience with preparation and/or review of individual, corporate, partnership, and trust tax returns</li> <li>3+ years in a similar role is highly preferred</li> <li>Bachelor's degree is required</li> <li>Proficiency at Microsoft Office, especially Excel and Word</li> <li>Familiarity with AgilLink is a plus</li> <li>Familiarity with CCH tax software is a plus</li> <li>CPA or CPA eligibility is highly preferred</li> <li>Solid interpersonal skills and other key soft skills (i.e., communication, time management, emotional intelligence, adaptability, active listening, critical-thinking, etc.)</li> <li>Capability to learn new systems and process information quickly</li> <li>Organization skills with attention to detail</li> </ul> <p>This is a non-exempt, overtime eligible position. The annualized base pay range for this role is expected to be between <strong>$60,000 - $80,000</strong>. Actual base pay could vary based on factors including but not limited to experience, subject matter expertise, geographic location where work will be performed, and the applicant's skill set.
