Job Summary:
This incumbent is responsible for support (electrical and mechanical) of production equipment, and support within the Engineering Department, and Engineering project work.
Key Responsibilities:
- Ability to prepare written documentation such as repair and replacement procedures, trouble-shooting guides, etc. related to support in a regulated environment.
- Utilize both electrical, control (including PLC, VFD, and Servo) mechanical, and process trouble-shooting skills to provide support for production operations in a multi-shift manufacturing environment.
- Support production equipment along with department personnel on a rotating, on-call basis
- Work with strong commitment to compliance to GMP and change control requirements required by Pharmaceutical industry.
- Utilize detailed knowledge of control and electrical components along with general knowledge of mechanical equipment including pneumatics to replace parts and perform new installations.
- Maintain the electronic and mechanical aspects of operating process equipment as needed, including upgrades of electronic and mechanical items.
- Develop and maintain a database of required spare parts for production electronic and process equipment, and organize and maintain stock area.
- Oversee and verify all operating aspects of new equipment at installation.

Qualifications
Education
- Associate’s degree (A.A.) or equivalent from a two-year college or technical school.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Familiarity with Current Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMPs), Food and Drug Administration (FDA) regulations, and Pharmaceutical Manufacturing SOPs.
- Proficiency with scientific and personal computer hardware and software applications.
- Strong command of Business English, including usage, spelling, grammar, and punctuation.
- Basic mathematical and statistical computation skills.
- Ability to understand control system documentation, such as safety rules, wiring diagrams, PLC programs, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
Experience
- At least four years of experience in a similar role within an industrial environment, or a minimum of eight years of related experience and/or training.
- Equivalent combinations of education and experience will be considered.
