POSITION OVERVIEW
The Manager, Health and Safety will be based at Cheniere’s Houston headquarters and will be considered a subject matter expert for Occupational Health and Safety programs with a focus on field support and execution. This role is responsible for the development, implementation, execution, compliance and improvement of enterprise level Health and Safety programs. This individual is responsible for providing both people and program leadership.
The Manager, Health and Safety is responsible for providing health and safety technical guidance, leadership and support to LNG Operating assets, Pipeline Operations, and the Project Development Division to ensure programs and activities are conducted in compliance with all applicable regulatory requirements, permits, company policies and procedures.
The Manager, Health and Safety will provide leadership to drive improvements with Cheniere’s Safety Culture and actively support Four Key Strategic Objectives:

In promoting and championing these objectives, the Manager, Health and Safety will work to build and implement Key Strategic Actions that will drive sustained engagement and continual improvement of the company Mission to responsibly deliver a reliable, competitive and integrated source of LNG in a safe and rewarding work environment.
In support of Inspiring, Challenging and Empowering the Health and Safety Team, this role will work collaboratively work with their team to develop and implement individual development plans and achievable goals that align with the organization’s key strategic objectives, ensure ongoing organizational objectives are achieved and provide opportunity is available for personnel to grow and develop.
RESPONSIBILITIES AND ESSENTIAL DUTIES
The Manager, Health and Safety will primarily be responsible for design, implementation oversight, and continuous improvement of enterprise health and safety management systems and programs.
The Manager, Health and Safety will:
• Lead other health and safety professionals and is responsible for creating an inspired, challenged and empowered health and safety team.
• Serve as an enterprise health and safety expert for the following areas, which includes but is not limited to emergency response, injury case management, incident investigation and learning, risk identification, management and reduction, contractor safety, turnaround safety, project safety as well as field construction and industrial safety.
• Organize and assign goals and responsibilities, manage individual and team performance through accountability, conduct meaningful employee performance reviews, develop and coach talent of onsite health and safety team.
• Supports the improvement of the company safety culture through the engagement of employees and contractors.
• Lead the development and maintenance of enterprise level health and safety standards, procedures and programs.
• Assure the sites and applicable stakeholders are appropriately represented during the development of enterprise health and safety programs.
• Collaborates with site process safety teams to align company and industry practices applicable to occupational health and safety and including but not limited to safety related topics, such as building and facility siting, process hazard analysis, fire and gas detection, incident investigation, process safety, fire water design, engineering specifications and risk management.
• Develop, implement and deliver health and safety related associated training.
• Work closely with the internal Company environmental and compliance teams when relevant FERC, PHMSA, and other regulatory interaction exists.
• Serve as a company representative for health and safety, if necessary, when interacting with regulators, industry trade organizations, community events or similar.
• Serve as a member of incident management and incident support teams as needed.
• Support and participate in audit and functional verification of HSE requirements.
• Review health and safety incident and near miss data to identify key trends that can be leveraged in the development of continuous improvement programs.
• Facilitate and/or participate in incident investigations, supporting the identification of root and contributing causes and corrective actions to prevent reoccurrence.
• Maintain enterprise level health and safety related procedures and other key management systems within the Cheniere Integrated Management System (CIMS).
